Paypal and Ebay give 45 days. Regardless.
Snad is as good as a 45 day returns.
hosting is a service that cannot really be returned as its space on a server that once a user signs up they agree to TOS and are given a 7 days money back guarantee.
once a user signs up the have to tick that they have read and accepted the TOS also everything is traced, their IPS etc. which shows they have used the service ordered and provided. In a SNAD we have record shows they get exactly as ordered and described. Paypal class it as intangible so no buyer protection0 -

I was not replying to your specific post but to the thread in general. For goods which are covered, it's a no brainer. 45 days. Try bucking the system with goods that are eligible.0 -
I,m sorry but what part of
"Its ebays house and they can set the rules[so long as they are compliant with the law] anyway they choose"
You do seem to be talking as if ebay were a public service rather than a private business.0 -

yes
means if you are an ebay member they will default you to the 14 days even though DSR does not apply to you. to change my site to 14 days, means changing banners/text etc which will all cost money. i can assure you that all web hosts will be in the same boat along with many others that DSR does not apply. so yes have the 14 days but this should be an option so those DSR does not apply does not need to adopt it.
1.Comply with Ebay.
2. Disconnect from Ebay and don't sell there again.
3. Leave it as it is and wait for Ebay to stat closing your Ebay id down.
4. Get Ebay to change their minds.
Given that they're following upcoming changes that will be in force in the UK, number 4 doesn't seem likely.
As you aren't a consumer, whatever their opinion, Trading Standards aren't going to help you. They would look silly if they told Ebay to stop giving the consumer more rights, it does seem to oppose the point of Trading Standards..0 -

If ebay force me to have 14 days on my listings and my site still say 7 days then what does that look like to prospective customers
Ebay's rules (anyones rules) can go over and above the law. It's when they undermine and diminish the law it becomes a problem.
Sell on my website (for instance) and I say 100 day money back guarantee for all buyers. You either take it or leave it, but it doesn't change the law.0 -

That'll make you look a bit silly won't it?
Or have I misunderstood you?
Especially as you will have to abide by the 14 day ruling if you wish to continue to trade on ebay.
If it is going to be such a big job for you, perhaps you should start now and avoid getting caught out when the rule actually changes.
In a similar way to ebay offering more protection that the law, you can even provide more protection than ebay demand if you wish.
Now just think how that would look to prospective customers.0 -
Trading Standards aren't going to help you.
Yes they do as they helped me draft and set up my TOS/policies at my request and they are happy to check if i need to make changes to make sure they fit current consumer legislation.
they told me as hosting does not fall user DSR the 14 day new ruling will not apply to me, so this remains at 7 days. In hosting the longer you give then the more chances are you will get more spammewrs sign up use the server for a few weeks to spam etc. and then claim their money back and leave and by that time the damage is done and you will find the server IPs getting blocked and spam reports coming in. so 7 days gives a host more control.
I dare say at some point you have all suffered spam emails, but dont get to see the damage and issues these spammers cause to servers0 -

As stated the 7 days is set to the min. to help combat spammers etc signing up for our services.0
