Difference between a home owner and a tenant is that it's the persons own house to dirty up just as they like. Council houses belong to the council so by extension the tax payer so it's quite right that they are treated with respect and looked after - I certainly wouldn't borrow something then wreck it!
And the area I'm talking about doesn't so much have cars on bricks, more cars in various stages of being burned out, it's definitely not a place you'd walk through at night or even during the day if you could help it.
I disagree it is actually in everyone's interest to adhere to hygienic practices, just because a person has the money to purchase something does not give them the right to pollute the planet, also with regards to cars then by that logic a person who owns the car can therefore burn their own car out and that is their right?
BTW i am a home owner so no sour grapes here0 -
Ok I'll try.
The 973,000 16 -24 year olds is the number of people according to the ONS (that's the Office for National Statistics) who are un-emp-loyed i.e. they've got no job.
Got that???
Now the ~500,000 jobs available are again according to the ONS (see above) is the figure for the number of vacancies i.e. available jobs.
Also don't forget the 1million+ other un-emp-loyed people who are older than 24 who are also chasing (going after) these ~500,000 vacancies.
Can you take it from there???
You obviously like to be a smart !!!!!, but blatantley avoid answering the question.
If there are so many unemployed, why are there so many job vacancies available?0 -
Thats absolute garbage. Propaganda being peddled by the Tories and their mouthpieces to justify their purge on the most vulnerable in society.
The majority of eastern europeans are working for less than NMW and in conditions your wouldn't allow an animal to live in.
British employers won't hire Britisah workers as those employers don't want to play by the rules. They don't want to pay holidays pay, provide safe environments, or ensure they provide their employees with their statutory rights.
Ok so you dismiss my comment as absolute rubbish and propaganda, and dispute it with opposing absolute rubbish and propaganda.
As has already been mentioned, there are 500,000 job vacancies right now, if there are so many unemployed that want to work, why is there any job vacancy at all?0 -

Including this tory **** who probably hasn't had to do a hard days work in his privileged life. According to him it's all the fault of the 16 to 24 year olds that they haven't got a job!!
This is what being a 4th generation tory toff and fellow Bullingdon Bully turns you into!!

If your question wasn't so stupid I'd hazard a try at it but if you're asking why are there so "many" vacancies out there go and ask your mates Dave and Gideon; as they're doing **** all to get some of the 2.5 million'ish unemployed people into those 500,000 jobs.
But YOU try answering the question how do you get ~2.5 million unemployed people into just ~500,000 jobs which incidentally has been the amount of vacancies since the last mob (that's the labour party) were in power.0 -

I don't actually have a political preference, I think they are all as bad as each other.
The answer to your question is, you don't get 2.5m unemployed into 0.5m jobs, but surely you do get 0.5m into 0.5m jobs, leaving 2m unemployed.
Now YOU answer my question, which you have avoided, if there are so many people unemployed that want to work, why are there ANY job vacancies?0 -

Perhaps because the 500,000 is a fluid figure and no doubt consists of very many temporary and agency jobs. People move in and out of work daily. You'll never reach a state of 100% employment. It's impossible.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

An ever moving and developing workforce? 500k vacancies isn't really that much compared to unemployment figures (something I don't know actually, do they include those in the WRAG in those figures?). What about those on zero hours contracts who are seeking something more stable, how many of those are there?
There are high turnover vacancies, poor employers constantly needing to refill vacancies, people moving internally within a company and leaving a gap behind etc etc. You would never have 0 vacancies as that would represent a stagnant work and business market.
Then there are the job that aren't really jobs at all. I've seen many a fake advert from recruitment agencies, who use JobCentre websites to advertise these fictional vacancies. There are the things like dodgy marketing companies, self employed franchises (from Avon to letting agents). Then there are the adverts that simply haven't been deleted even after the vacancy has been filled.
It all represents a stark reality of competition being fierce for the decent, genuine jobs out there. You will also find a lot of migrants returning to their home countries after being unable to find a job, or unable to work that pays enough for them to live on consistently.
Anyone who says there is plenty of work is just downright ignoring the facts to satisfy their own prejudices and political beliefs.0 -
I think I am missing the point you are trying to get at here.
The scenario which you are describing, where there is no disabled public transport must be a very specific place and must only effect a limited number of people, who cannot use any public transport at all.
Fair enough, if you live in the Scottish Highlands you may struggle with Public Transport, but that would be the same for everybody, disabled or not.
Again, it just sounds like making excuses and arguing for the sake of it to me.
I lived in somerset for a few years and I had to move as I was quite isolated. The nearest bus stop was 20 minutes away (for a normal person) for me it would take an hour. I ended up having to spending a fortune on taxi's. Public transport isnt the be all and end all.
This show was an eye opener for me. I want to be back in work, but due to my disabilities I have been out of work for 5 years. I Have been on interviews and have been turned down. No one has told me why, but when you have a five year gap no one wants to hire you. I have hated everyday of it. That Karen woman needs to hang her head in shame. She made people like me look !!!!less. No Spend November 2/15 and SPC 1340
