its frozen raw meat and tbh its any meat you would eat yourself! I wouldn't do it with any processed meats - such as kebabs and burgers. but chops, joints, chicken, duck, turkey, beef and the minces are all fine! I used to do this with last cat on our vets advice and he said its really good for them as a lot of nutrients and iron from the meat will leach into the melt. the cat I fed it to was FIV and he had very few teeth, so raw meat was out of the question! he had the pate type food or wet canned food which I whizzed up with the stick blender.

Meri, you really are great. I wouldn't mind being adopted by you :D

I have a nervy male pure breed ( a ragdoll like I know Atrix has). I find him very demanding and quite draining at times but we rehomed him 5 years ago and so he's going nowhere. I've had pooping issues lately whilst we have had building works done and we had to move his litter tray to a different place. Initially I thought it was his younger sis until I caught him in the act. I'm not an expert but in mine I think it's a territory/dominance/combined with nerves thing, because once everyone left and he settled, it all calmed down.

Mine likes the gourmet tinned meals, too. Bloomin' typical

Just to add :- Balletshoes, I read a while ago in a post of yours that your cat was missing, I'm sorry they didn't come home. Hope you are having lots of kitten fun, though.

I LOVE ragdolls gingin! I never realised the 'charms' the Persian has tho! I truly understand why some folks are devoted to them now!

I don't think its territory or dominance with Barney - I think its more a privacy issue (perhaps someone walked into the bathroom while he was er about to go 'potty'?).

I don't mind the cost of the little 'gourmet' tins - I am lucky enough to be able to afford them. I just want him to enjoy his food and put weight back on - a skinny Persian looks all wrong!

apart from the 'poo in the bath' he has been a delight! I hope I can sort this issue out with a quick trip to the greengrocers to beg a large box off them!

yes, when you defrost frozen meat you are left with 'bloody' looking liquid. that is the 'melt'.

I tried a couple of shops and they both said they break up their boxes to go in the recycling! apparently council insist on this! I will ask up my local shop if the owner will put aside the large boxes he gets the eggs in for me - shouldn't be a problem, I spend loads up there!
so am still checking the bathroom every hour or so - and the little bu99er pooped in the bath while I was out for an hour today!
I am thinking of putting in one of those timesheets 'Bathroom last checked by staff at .............'!
Son suggested that I leave water in the bath............don't think so! at least I know where to look now- I don't want Barney getting inventive! and its easy enough to clean!

as you can see - son showed me how to get the pics off the memory disk and upload to photobucket and then how to post them - what a palaver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in the olden days you could post straight from your own hard drive!

lol - Barney is stretched out on the printer - and he just photocopied the lid! its one of those touch screen thingies and he is playing with it and making it beep!

he was upstairs earlier on and I must have been quieter than usual cos I scared him witless - he shot about two feet in the air and landed facing the other way then legged it downstairs. I came down laffing and he expressed his displeasure by sharpening his claws on the carpet whilst glaring at me!!!!! I hope Aldi has some scratch posts left on Thursday - I think we need one!

Hope you get a box soon! Could you put his litter tray in the bath for the moment?

I did think of that - but, he was really good until I went out........perhaps he thinks I should be in 24/7? I DO occasionally go out. he may settle a bit more when he realises I am not out long and I DO come back and yodel 'Hi Barney, I'm Hoooommmme!' its early days yet - 8 to be exact!
OH and he barged in on ME earlier! I hadn't shut the door properly and he shot in and peed in his litter tray! he didn't seem to mind that! I hope he isn't going in for communal toileting - I don't think OH will like that!
lmao - sons cat Felix used to barge in and sit on your lap! (bathroom door is defective - sometimes it 'catches' sometimes it doesn't and the lock doesn't work - we disabled it when youngest son was little as he was forever locking himself in there'!) remember that Atrix????????
  • damn door hated me!.
