Ultimately, the buyer did not threaten negative feedback. They just asked for a refund and were awaiting the answer before leaving feedback. EBay would probably allow this.

I'll remember that if i'm ever mugged in the street.

"Hand over all your money before you die".

He's not threatening me - just asking me to give him all ive got before the time comes when i die.

    It WAS a threat.

I might have missed it but did you say how much postage actually was v what you charged?

    how is that relevant?

Why the sigh, are you bored with yourself?

I hope you are joking, seeing as you just spent time quoting a post that was nothing to do with you.! dire.

I sigh because I find myself dealing with unhelpful nit picking know it all keyboard "experts". .
I don't respond to stupid so that's why I am ignoring you.

I think it is very relevant. I think that if you are charging well over the odds for postage then the buyer is well within their rights to rate that portion of the transaction low on the system Ebay designed for that purpose.

I say this as a seller as well as a buyer.

Postage is always stated upfront, why buy if you don't like it?

It's like buying a tin of beans for £50 and then complaining AFTER the event. Only a mug would do so.

Stated upfront, so that is what it should cost. Only a mug would pay more than the cost of an itemised part of the transaction.

Sometimes it's not that simple though is it? The items I sell are quite large and have to be packed and mailed individually.

If a buyer bought multiple units, there is no scope for discount on the postage, certainly not with the courier I use anyway, but that's my choice.

If a seller did not specify multiple item discounts upfront and a buyer purchased anyway without confirming a discount in advance, the buyer has only got themselves to blame. It is a bit rich to leave a seller negative feedback for what effectively is your own neglect. There is no law that states sellers HAVE to give a discount.

It's more like buying a pair of shoes for £50 as per the label, then when you get them home you see the price on the box is £29.99.

Anyway the OP has told us she combined postage and gave a discount but she hasn't said how much.
It's possible items had individual postage of £5 each and this was reduced to £7 but when package arrived it was only £3.
Also we don't know anything about packaging used.
Then when ebay ask "How reasonable was the postage?" how are you going to answer?
They don't ask "How happy are you with the total price of your item?"

I almost always leave 5* anyway as I judge any bids on total price
Like I recently got an item on Best Offer for £40 p&p £25 only cost £9.10 to send, I was happy, seller got full 5* and made a bit on postage,so what, the overall price was about £10 less than ebay average.

The buyer should've asked for total combined price before bidding anyway not after winning.

    Lol!

I am a not a nit picker just a dimwit picker.

Your 'sigh' post was a direct reply to my post.

So, no, not joking. Just find your short term memory and reason for posting odd.

Oh, and wrong. Forgot that. Probably why you chose to nit pick.
