Hi all - how is the shopping going? I got a couple of baking trays in Poundland yesterday - should be ok and if they get lost or ruined it won't matter!
    Noo

I hadn't thought of baking trays!

I will add oven gloves to the list! Thanks for that Poppy.:T
  • My daughter has a "brand new" iron. Well 2 years old brand new, it's the one I bought for her brother that he has never used.:rotfl:

She has also had to have lessons in how to use it. Having chosen a performance based course she is more likely to need uncreased clothes than her brother. I am hopeful that her clothes will spend less time on the floor now she has to iron them herself!

The iron thing is something I am debating whether to send one or not! My DD is doing sport so perhaps not as important!

My DS told me he'd need an iron for uni... Err, why? He's been responsible for his own laundry for years now and he NEVER irons anything. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

He occasionally makes noises about ironing a particularly crumpled shirt before he goes out, then decides the creases will fall out  on the 2 mile walk into town. (He can iron, I taught him when he was 11/12)

I have a spare iron/kettle etc. but waiting to see what is provided and what others bring to halls!

I don't need bedding for DD but if you do Primark have single bed sets in their sale for £6

Hi Poppy I was just thinking about this and wondered whether your DD had found a group on Facebook for her Uni - she could post on there and ask a 2nd/3rd yr student what it means by kitchen fully equipped - it could just mean kettle, toaster microwave etc.

She has joined the Firmers and Fresher pages but no one is told what accommodation they are in until 9th Sept. and then they will be invited to join their "halls page".
