We spent the morning at the allotment after a quick trip to the market for a couple of things, the snails have attacked the cabbages I put in earlier in the week, b***** things, I hate doing it, but have put down slug pellets, cannot afford to keep replacing the plants.........
Lovely day very hot and sunny, we picked 1lb 12 ozs of strawberries and I dug a couple of shaws of early spuds for supper, over 2 lbs from two plants. Put the onions into the little plant house on wire trays to finish drying off, left the garlic spread out on the path. The snails have also had a go at my clematis............I had to have a talk to our little green frog who lives under the waterbutt, kept telling him that there was supper in the clematis pot, but he just went ribbit and hopped away..............
Into a cool bath when we got back........then HM bread and cheese for lunch followed with a bowl of straws and youhurt..yummy..............
Grilled gammon, pineapple, new spuds and salad for supper tonight..........pork chops tomorrow.................
Not doing anything this afternoon, might have a zizz in a mo, all this hard work makes me tired............
My fibro seems to have settled again, and OH has planted stuff out and dittered about on the lottie with no ill effects.....................so the rest is having the desired effect............he has a bowls meeting Monday evening, I will have to take him as he is not driving just now, so will have to take a book and sit and read for a while....says he is not going to play for at least 8 weeks.....we will see.
Time for a cuppa, enjoy the weather whilst it lasts.........................Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Phew, it's warm! I had to come inside for a bit as I was getting a bit hot & bothered outside.
DH has just gone to work for the evening, so I've got the rest of the day to myself. So far I've been to the gym, Asda for bread (came out with a reduced duck for Sunday dinner ), M&S for euros (going to France for a week next Saturday), watched the rugby, put a dark load in the WM & snoozed in the garden for an hour! The washing has just finished, so that can go out on the line & then I'm going to do a toiletries inventory for holiday to see what we need.
After last night's fish & chips (greasy but yummy!) it's salad for tea tonight, but there's also a new bottle of margarita mix in the fridge, so it'd be rude not to try it later on
Hugs to all, enjoy the sun whilst it lasts, especially those of you heading off to Florida soon.0 -
Afternoon All
(((Jamiedodger))) get better soon, there has been a tummy bug doing the rounds here have missed it so far....
Welcome Crabman
Have a brilliant time to all those going on holiday. Only 6 months worth of sleeps before we go to Florida. Because of the new Harry Potter Park we have already started thinking about going again in 2010. Orlando is one of the main reasons Ive ended up on MSE.
Feels like I havnt been here for ages but was only since Thursday. Been a beautiful day here today which was especially good as it was DS's football fun and presentation day. He was awarded Most Improved Player trophy so he is very happy.
Ate at the barbeque there so dont think we will want a big dinner tonight, also as it has been such a nice day we are going down to our local this evening with the kids for a couple of hours. It's right on the water so will sit outside and enjoy the sunset.
Downside as been out all day have done no washing or housework today, will need to get up early tomorrow and get it all done before we head out for lunch with the inlaws as its father in laws birthday meal. The place we are going is dark and dingy. Last year my ds's food was served stone cold and we were eating our desserts when some people were still waiting for our dinner, however mil likes it because - its cheap. Needless to say we are not looking forward to it.
Going to go and have a mooch round MSE for a while and a quick tidy up before we head out to the pub.
Enjoy the rest of Saturday.0 -
Good afternoon everyone.
Had a busy day today. DH finally finished the shed:j :j But do you remember partly the reason for repairing rather than getting a new one? Oh yes, he'd have had to empty it. What have we done today? Emptied and tidied the bl**dy shed:rotfl: :rotfl: Still it's wonderful! You can actually walk into it, look around, see things and even retieve them should the urge grab you:D
Because I was such a willing little helper, DH is taking me out for dinner tonight;) So I shan't hang around, because I do need a little time to bathe, hairwash and polyfilla my face:cool:
Enjoy your evenings, and (((((hugs))))) to all who need them, especially JAMIEDODGER and kyle.
Bye for now, CMxx
Oh well, will have to hang around a bit longer, DS got in the shower while I was typing, damn cheek!!You never get a second chance to make a first impression.0 -
Hi everone,
Still very busy, I try to read the thread most days but don't often post, mainly because I feel an OS failure at the moment. I'm getting so tired at work the house is being neglected.
But, in the absence of Racy red I thought i'd share a sight I saw last night. I was walking the dog by the river with DH when we saw a long procession of goslings - there were 32 of them all in a row being shepherded by 6 geese, it was amazing!
The two nights before walking the dog at 8.30 so still daylight we've seen a barn owl flying low over the fields - once it pounced on something it saw, a brilliant sight.

Hiya, busy catching up on haousework today with twinks help, then dh and kids were planting out carrots and potted some peppers, garden is due a serious sorting out, mainly full of weeds, so that will be a big job!
Made garlic spaghetti cheese for tea, it was so yummy:D a firm fave with the kids.
Hope everyone is fine, and all who are due to go to florida, have a fab time!:j 3 months til we go.

Hiya everyone!
Hasn't the weather been glorious the past couple of days? :j
I've been working but found time to gather together bits an pieces in the kitchen and cooked myself a few meals using up some dried vegetables I bought and then forgot about  I made a nice risotto but adding a wee pinch of curry powder to give it a bit of oomph - and a lovely risotto it was! What was BAD was that I ate it all at one sitting (two greedy helpings), so I don't deserve to be slim.
I am struggling to use up all those soaps that I bought when collecting them. Many have lost their scent now, but I decided to grate them as and when necessary, and use the soap suds so obtained for washing delicates. I also tried to clean the bathroom tiles with this soapy water (lots of soap) and then going over with a vinegar solution, and it looks ok for now.
I'm realy getting into this old style malarkey and I can already see good savings, and less harsh chemicals in my home.
Have a great Sunday everyone! :jBe careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0 -

essexgirl well done to ds for getting a trophy
snoozer must have been magical to see the barn owl and the geese
i had a nice long walk with dgs3 in the afternoon, kyle said he fell asleep as soon as he was in bed, popped in to see elderly neighbour to make sure she was eating, she gets meals on wheels but her great niece has ordered some ready meals for her as she has lost interest in cooking, she is a lovely lady and its a shame to see her not so able now0 -
Hello everyone,
((HUGS)) to all those who need one xxx
Well, busy day today, and im finally sitting down with a glass of rose and Grease is on the telly!!! (Joseph final at 8.05 tho, hope Lee wins!!)
Have DDs friend here, and they are outside playing at the moment. I did a BBQ for dinner, but first time ive used one on my own (friend who went to Oz gave me her old one, and im still not sure how to use it) so it took about 1 1/2 hours to cook, and that was with starting it all in the oven, and finishing the burgers off in the oven!!! hopefully i will do better next time.
Went into Plymouth and bought DS some new trainers (his old ones were falling apart) also treated myself to some clinique sun lotion and an eye liner as it was bonus time in Dingles, so now have a nice box of samples - hope im not the only one who gets excited by the free gifts!!!
Hope all those off on holiday have a lovely time, im hoping to go back in 2009, we love it there!! Im saving my tesco vouchers for Florida, also saving to go and visit my friend in Oz (only need the flight and spends) so although no holidays at the moment, will have a couple of lovely ones to look forward to!!!
Right, off to watch the end of Grease, and check the children are all ok.
Have a lovely evening everyone,
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0
