Morning Amie and all who follow.
Boys and their toys, your OH will be playing with his new car all weekend I am sure. I always maintain the order in this house is DS, car, me. Your sand festival sounds like fun, I am sure you will get down to that. Don't forget to post some photos of your sandcastle. What have you got planned for your birthday Amie?
I looked at the Travelodge deal, thinking of one for mid week, mid August for my birthday, we come back from Spain a the beginning of the week and go off to France at the end, with my birthday in the middle and DH's while we are in France. DS has been offered a job near Cheltenham, to start at the beginning of August, so cannot get us to see us for my birthday, and a bit far for DH's, so thinking for getting one to go down to see him, otherwise it will be around 7 weeks without seeing him. Just waiting his Contract to arrive before I book.
Up early, probably the sleep yesterday afternoon, but also got too warm IUKWIM.
Need to book the ferry for France today.
Take care all ((((hugs))))) as needed/wanted.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Morning.. Day off today. All the kids are going to the Royal Cornwall show with my parents, so a nice empty house. I hope they get there in good time. Yesterday there were 7 mile tailbacks to the carparks!.
My boat is sold and gone and I have the money... :j It was not the best investment I have made, but I had a lot of fun with it and got my money back. I may get another one sometime in the future, but I would have to get a partner I think.
I think we are towing our caravan to the OH' sisters farm today. It just sits on our drive and never gets used. I wanted to sell that too, liquidate the lot! But I think it will go to the farm which overlooks the sea near St Michaels mount in Penzance. We will treat it like a static caravan and go and stay in it during the summer. The OH and kids can do the same when I am working and so everyone is a winner.
I could lend it out??? But the only issue is the bathroom and shower facilities. I don't think my sis in law wants everyone going in her house for a shower.
Got a church fund raiser tonight. Some of the folks have a Christian Blues band and will be playing a concert and doing comedy in aid of the Chernobyl childrens charity. It will be great entertainment. Ticket £3 if you want to come.. Truro Baptist church.... 7pm.
Another glorious day and set to continue. Not a cloud in the sky.
Happy dayNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -

Morning Chums ,the weather looks like it may perk up a bit today.A nice change from yesterday when tthere I was in all my finery dressed up to the nines for a day out in London when the heavens opened. I had to 'run' to my car.Which is a sight to behold, as I have to use a stick to even walk anywhere.Sat and drove, rather damp at the edges to Dartford where my friend and I were going up to the 'smoke ' via the train. Her old firm lays on a pensioners lunch every two years at the Waldorf in the Aldwych. It's a very nice 'freebie' and her husband had to work so off we went . I had a super day out and the food was very beautiful. We very wisely took a comfy pair of shoes to wear on our way home after lunch and the relief of putting them on after our heels was obvious to all in the ladies loos. A very smart lady looked at the pair of us changing our shoes, and said 'What a great idea I wish I'd brought mine' The days of looking elegant for any length of time are over .I am not used to being so dressed up,but it was nice to do it once in awhile. I met some lovely people and we both enjoyed ourselves immensly.
When I arrived home I discovered that my gardener who was laying my new patio had turned up at lunchtime, and was still hard at work at 8.00.p.m. last night!! .It's really looking good now and I can't wait for it to finish next week. He's a good lad and such a hard worker.
Today I am going to have a bit of a lazy day and not do too much as I am feeling a bit weary from all the noise and rushing around yesterday. I may go for a swim this afternoon ,followed by a feet up and read of my new Jodi Picault book. I have some ironing that can wait for another day. It's nothing too vital and I'm not short of clothes to wear. Hope everyone has a good day and Happy Birthday to those who are celebrating today .
Only 11 weeks until my next holiday .I am off to Sherringham with my youngest DD and her tribe of children for a week. We have managed to find a four-bed-roomed cottage there .It looks very nice and the children don't know we have booked it .
<<hugs>> to those in need .
Cheers,JackieO in North Kent0 -

well looks like we are going to have a nice day here weather wise. need to try to tame my jungle out back. cant believe how high the grass has grown or how well it grows in my borders when it is so patchy in the lawn
we're off to florida in 4 weeks, DD is off to switzerland in 2 weeks so I will need to think about what we all need for going. usa is easy though - wont need to take much. villa has washing machine and there are plenty shopping opportunities there
looking forward to the final of Joseph tonight.x x x0 -
Good morning all
I don't know what the weather is going to do today, it's a bit overcast & nothingy really. where's summer gone? Oh, yes - AMIE399's got it all in Bognor Regis!!!
N9eav - hope your concert goes well - bit too far for us to come, I'm afraid!
We have a church clean up day (not so much fun as a concert!) so we are hoping the weather is ok. So this will probably be the only chance I get to come on here.
Have a good day, everyone!0 -

JackieO - just re-read your post a bit more thoroughly. I know it's a way off, but would think your family will have a lovely time at Sheringham. We spent quite a few holidays in that area - but near Weybourne - the other end of the steam railway, so used to come into Sheringham by steam train. That's style!0
