really worried about dsr scores.

Rarely , my default is 5* and I don't usually come across poor sellers as I tend to stick to business sellers only.
I avoid business sellers - as their volumes are so high - they get away with poor service. They can soak up the stars.
Private sellers would walk over coal bare foot for you for 5 stars.0 -
I'm only a small occasional private seller. For a while I've been under the impression (mostly from this forum) that you need a minimum DSR score of 4.6 in all categories, otherwise risking suspension, leading up to a permanent ban.
THEN I read SteveE2's link! I've tried reading the help pages before, but never saw that particular page.
From that page it looks like although 4.6 is the minimum requirement to retain Powerseller /TRS status, the only DSR requirement to avoid suspension is to get no more than 3 1s/2s (I'm ignoring the % alternative).
Also, the max allowed low DSR scores per category is 3. According to this page, having 3 lows will lose you TRS status, but not get you suspended.
Is this all correct, or am I missing something?
Your missing something. Its not that simple. You can have 3 stars/100 and show improvement - and stay - or you can be suspended for staying at the threshold throughout - with no improvement.
Best to be 4.7 or above, and stay safe. 4.9 is my target.0 -
The free gift I would offer would be a quality item, for example if I sold a poster I'd include a free fridge magnet of the film the poster was from.
Also, anything that could rattle around in the tube could damage the purchased item, which would definitely risk low stars."The secret of life is honesty and fair dealing.
...If you can fake that, you've got it made."

I don't know whether eBay send out warnings when you're ON the minimum requirements (as your comment on 1s/2s implies) or if they leave you alone unless you're below them. I've often seen posts from Soolin warning of suspensions if you get 2 stars - but the eBay page reads as though 2 lows just gets you dropped from TRS, not kicked off eBay.
The OP did ask in post 37 "As I understand it to maintain power seller status you have to stays above 4.6, what is the number to be a standard seller? I'm just wondering how low it goes before your below standard?"
This question particularly interests me as I am one of those private sellers you refer to who walks over coals for his buyers - broken glass too! I do that because I expect to be booted off if I don't maintain at least 4.6. From SteveE2's link it would appear there is NO minimum score required! Apart from avoiding 1s/2s.
Please do comment - this is a pretty fundamental point!0 -
It's the number of lows that count for a private seller
Here's a recent example from an ebayer (99.7%)
Item as described 0.50% (1) 1.00% 4.9
Communication 0.50% (1) 2.00% 4.9
Dispatch time 3.00% (6) 2.00% 4.7
Postage and packaging charges 0.00% (0) 2.00% 5.0
Result: Selling account suspended (below standard)
I did receive warnings about this yes but I did tell ebay/buyers that I work 6 days a week and I would let them know when I can post the item off. Buyers were happy about this.0 -
From what I can tell it seems that seller sells very little and what they have sold has a lot of low starred feedback.Chances are I'm in this thread asking questions as I love to learn new stuff. (Did you know all polar bears are left handed?)0

Obviously they weren't and reflected this by hitting the stars.
I got the point about avoiding the lows. I did see this one on the other thread and it is obvious what got them suspended - the 6 lows on the dispatch time.
But do you concur that according to the page you linked to, as long as a eBay seller has less than the minimum required number of lows, they could have DSR scores of 3.0 across all categories, and not be in danger of suspension? Losing Powerseller / TRS, yes, but not actual suspension?
I'm banging on about this because I suspect I've been wasting a lot of time working hard to keep my scores up when I needn't have bothered. Never had a low, but I do worry about keeping above 4.6.0 -
Anything above 4.6 is fine - however, it's probably better to have a cushion in case you come across a nutter.0

Yeah its clearly the dispatch times, and though he told then he'll take longer sadly you can't do that, it seems these days you can put on your selling page you have a 3 day turn around yet you still really need to post next day. Shame really, if it was a hotel saying they had 4 out of 5 stars you'd be thinking 'great' but in eBay land its pants.Chances are I'm in this thread asking questions as I love to learn new stuff.
