A bit off topic but this inspired me to look in tammy girl in BHS as i need an outfit for a friends wedding. Got a ribbon knit sequinned shrug for less than a fiver in an age 14-16 size:)

i've done this quite often, pyjamas in age 14 or 15 fit me fine, and are much cheaper than the adult sizes. glad you got something you liked though.

My 2 toddlers wouldn't be wearing anything if someone took away my charity and ebay bargains! :) They do occasionally have new clothes but only when they're in a sale or a relative buys them something. I can honestly say that I have never bought anything that wasn't 2nd hand or in a sale from the day they were born. I'm quite proud of that fact because they are always well turned out and no different from any other child at their playschool.

Why buy new when babies and small children get next to no wear from their clothes before they grow out of them?

Just got back from spending the afternoon up in Golders Green exploring the charity shops and came back with a couple of terrific bargains :j :j

A beautiful Next charcoal-grey wool mix suit (jacket and trousers) with a wide pinstripe. There are one or two little rips in the seams of the lining which won't matter, and also it's a teeny bit short in the leg but the hems are huge so that's easily sorted. £10.

A black lined shift dress from Jigsaw. The type you wear to work with a jacket over the top (and it will go with every jacket I own). Fits now but will fit better when I've lost half a stone :o. £5.

Pretty good for a rainy Sunday afternoon :D:D

I converted lots of people at Uni to charity shops. They always commented on how good I looked so I took them in!! They ended up spending a fortune (in charity shop terms) on clothes!! But they are still great, it's funny how people will buy clothes on ebay but not in charity shops!!

    :)
