  • ooh yay! congratulations!!!!

yeah, you just need to ring docs to make an app with midwife. in my area they come to your house for the 1st visit, then they will go through everything and give you details to book your 12 week scan.

ps: im sure everything will be fine in the end :)

Congratulations OP, really pleased to hear your lovely news, awww how exciting.

You don't need to see your doctor, he/she doesn't confirm your pregnancy, they just go by your positive test result. Phone your surgery though and ask for a booking in appointment with your midwife. They start seeing you from when you are 8 weeks. If you haven't done so already, take folic acid as it is really good for a baby's development.

For all i feel really nervous and keep wondering if the tests isn't right and how im worried about mine and OHs future i am gettng really excited.

Enjoy it all. Discovering you are expecting your first baby is such a special time in someone's life. I can relate to not believing the test result. We came close to having to re-mortgage the amount of tests I did during the early stages of my first pregnancy :o

Taking vitamins specifically for pregnant women that contain folic acid, such as pregnacare, should be fine.

    Congratulation - that's wonderful news.

You shouldn't take normal multi vitamins when pregnant because of something to do with vitamin a. Go and buy some folic acid.
  • Congratulations !

I was advised not to take multi-vitamins as they may contain Vitamin A which I believe isn't recommended in pregnancy.

Don't take multi-vitamins. You could take one aimed at pregnant women, e.g. Pregnacare (supermarkets do their own, much cheaper, versions) or you could just take what the NHS recommends which is folic acid and Vitamin D.
