I am sick and tired of getting all my auctions come back to me every week
Your eBay item didn't sell
Your eBay item didn't sell

So on and so on and so on.............
Dvd, cds, badges, other household items. The DVD's are collectible, they are selling on Ebay for HIGHER prices than mine. Ditto for other items. I have tried raising my prices, lowering them all to no avail.
IT'S A WASTE OF TIME
Ho hum, so Ebay is dead then is it?
Must tell my accountant to stop bothering going through my best years sales yet then! lol.0 -
Many expletives deleted.
I think this was the longest gap between posts.
CDs, DVDs and badges? Have you got any Kajagoogoo cassettes, they'll probably be a winner.
If anyone thinks I'm being overly cynical, the OP posted the same thread in March 2010 and again every few months thereafter. Pretty much saying the same thing as a result of selling the same stuff.

I wonder if Hubb is the seller listing £1 shop stuff for £5.99 to £9.99 + postage?
If ebay is dead how come i spend so much on there? Another £70 worth of stuff this weekend.
All the stuff i have been watching has sold for more than i wanted to pay. So people
are buying. Seems its just you.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
I might have known the "Ebay is great no matter what" crowd would not let me down yet again. It is obviously not just myself who is noticing a huge drop in sales with VARIOUS items, not Kajagoogoo VHS tapes. DVD's do sell online and on the high street. CEX is always full of people buying. As are Cash Converters etc etc and I offer free postage and 100% feedback which seemingly doesn't count for anything on Ebay these days. I also have collectible items listed in Miller's. A signed autobiography by a Hollywood actress but it doesn't get a look in.
The only thing I can try is buy it now but I have never heard of anyone complaining about an auction because basicly that is what Ebay is and has been all along.0 -
If you really are genuine and this isn't a very long joke, why not share what you are trying to sell? No need to post your own links/id but, if, as you say, you are trying to sell popular items there would be no problem saying what one or two of them are.
Also, have you actually sold anything in 4 years?.0 -

For the last 4 years it has been badges and Dr who items - all of which I have tried to respond to as certainly the Dr Who market si one I know something about. It appears there was some mythological period in the past that hubb's items sold but unlike the rest of us it has been dififcult to let go of a market that did well in say 2008 and move on.
In 2008/2010 my main income was from books and I held several thousand as stock- when it died I had a bit of a moan on the Amazon selling thread and since then have started to dump my stock and find new markets- and now I sell maybe one book a month if i am lucky and hold less than a thousand in stock.
However, I can give no more advice than I have done continually for years.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. RFW, if I remember correctly someone did help hub by looking at his ad and pointed out the competitors ad had a better picture and pointed out several other mistakes hub had made so it has been tried.
The bottom line is this: business takes hard work. Advertising, selling, spotting an opportunity, doing things efficiently, AND most importantly "knowing your market" and that means also knowing your market-place.
Knowing when is the right time to sell an item, and who your target audience is, and whether your items are correctly "placed" - this means either selling 1000 items at 50p each or 5 special items for £100 each - you get the idea.
Anyone thinking that eBay is just a mechanism for listing ANYTHING and raising lots of cash - take this on-board - and get ready to put your blood sweat and tears into it.Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise.
