Dire sales

I have been selling on Ebay for some years and usually sold all my items listed. This year it has got steadily worse, especially as I am now a business seller and can't list for free anymore. I re-list an unsold item only for it not to sell again but still have to pay listing fees. It's very depressing. The Ebay fees coupled with Tax, it soon won't be worth it.

Anyone else finding this ?

Listings haven't been free for that long, so how did you manage before?
Having said that things change, buyers, sellers, etc, you need to give up or evolve, not just sit back and watch the sales dwindle.

Have you checked similar completed listings from other sellers? That will tell you if your pricing is right or indeed if there is still a market for the products you sell. HTH.

don't relist the item exactly as it is.

if i am not sure about something i list is as a new listing - if it doesn't sell, i re-list it as something else i know WILL sell. that way the first listing is a sort of free/trial offer! well it is in my head. i then try the original item again as a NEW listing using 'sell similar' and repeat!

    does that make sense?;)

If something doesn't sell then move on. I change my stock constantly, once an item has saturated the market, or has fallen out of favour i move on to a new market.

Not everything has a value, th etrick is to know when to give up and research new markets.

As I've just spent a good 8 hours packing and wrapping stuff I can honestly say that sales are booming :rotfl:
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p
  • Just an idea, how about looking at completed listings of similar items and seeing what the difference in description/pictures/pricing to what has sold and yours?
Hope sales pick up for you soon :)

I wasn't trying to rub it in, sorry. :o

More meant to be a lighthearted post- there is a brightside to low sales.

If it helps you feel better the overnight shift was my birthday. :rotfl:
