Not all 'watchers' are potential buyers, many sellers keep an eye on the competition ;)

I think the OP's items can safely be ignored.

If I get a lot of watchers and no sale it's usually because I started my price too high.
Sometimes I watch items because they are ridiculous.

Recently i was looking for a freeview recorder and when i say 1 i liked i would click watch it so i could back later after i compared some or even used the watched item link as it saved me from trying to remember a seller that was selling several of these. I think i had watched 30 of these before i decided on the one i wanted and at a price i could afford.

I bet i am not the only one to work ebay this way when looking for an item
  • I bed you are not!
I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.

Ok, I will take on board all that has been advised here and apologize for wasting people's time and blaming everything else but myself. No, this isn't sarcasm, it's me taking a look at myself because I have become quite bitter and frustrated instead of really working out what I could do better. It's depressing but coming here moaning hasn't helped.
  • hub, you only have to work in a high street shop to realise there are runs on things. Things wane in and out of popularity almost magically. The strangest thing wont sell for years, then everyone wants it. This is all magnified 1000 fold on the internet. It's hard to predict where it goes.

When eBay started out, the generation of a certain age, all rushed onto it looking for things from their childhood, that they never could afford or find, you know NOW albums and old LPs, retro computers etc. That was 10 years ago. The generation growing up now lived with computers their whole life. If you are 10 or 11 now, eBay was running when you were born.

To be a successful businessman, you need to be alert to trends and changes. There is no model on the planet which just clings onto one set of stock. You need to CONSTANTLY think and change. The moment you stand still in your business, you are already walking backwards.

All too true, in my offline business i sell Toys and their is nothing more that changes trends and fad like toys. Every other day their are new fad kids want, but then the classics ( Marbles/Slinky etc.) still sell well

Best post I've read all year. It's probably been my worst few months since I've been on Ebay (over ten years). Some of that is my fault as I've been working on other projects, some is possibly to do with best match, some the economy and some a change in the wind. Not much point in analysing it or moaning, just try and change and move on.

As I've been an auctioneer I really hate hanging on to stock so I regularly clear out old lines and move on to something else or think of how to shift something that doesn't sell by listing it differently, ie change category, list with something else, try a joblot, use another marketplace.
