So why do I get a LOT of watchers? I never used to.

The economy more people watch various listings of the same items to see what they actually go for or home much interest is in a users items.

An item i sell used to sell roughly sold 5 to 12 a week, now its 1 or 2 a month if that.

Thanks. At last some backup here and proof ebay is fading away.
  • I have been selling shedloads of items.

Probably the start of the School holidays - all those teachers deciding to get some stuff from eBay whilst they are at home all day in this lovely sunshine.
I am a cow so cannot speak Bullshine but I do recognise its smell when I come upon it.

not really, if you over saturate the market with sellers that sell the same thing then people have more to chose from, so you wont get the same amount of sales.

I would say as the economy is as it is more people will search ebay for bargains along with more people clearing out garages and attics to make a bit more cash

This. The pool of sellers on ebay is growing faster than the pool of buyers. So the sales being spread thinner and thinner over more sellers. This is why a lot of people think ebay is dying. It isn't, it's doing reasonably well despite it's many flaws.

Doing fine for me too :) I am selling collectable items and there is money out there, especially if you are prepared to sell outside the UK. I've sold loads in Europe and the US this past month, even had a sale from Australia too. If the UK market is failing you, spread your net wider perhaps?

The items are from a personal collection I have built up over 20 years, I have nowhere to keep them now so I'm letting them go. I guess I don't have too much hassle if they don't sell as I'm not a business or selling for profit, just clearing out the attic.

So why do I get a LOT of watchers? I never used to. If all people can contribute are sardonic comments then I am wasting my time here. I have not changed my pricing (it's already very reasonable), 100% positive feedback a variety of items that do sell elsewhere on Ebay. You obviously don't get where I am coming from.

I am sure Soolin works for Ebay because he/she does a very good job of fielding off criticism towards them.

Ha, the 'Mornington Crescent' moment where I am accused of working for eBay usually means the OP realises his argument is fatally flawed.

Seriously OP, it's been 2 years since you started these multitude of threads...after that amount of time I can't see why you are still persevering .

Thing is Hubb, people have given you advice and even looked at your ads for you but you never seem to take anything on board and simply keep flogging a dead horse. It makes me feel like it's not worth throwing you any more pearls of wisdom.

and yet you're still here, a bit like on Ebay really, you're just a glutton for punishment.

Not heard that for a while. In my experience Ebay employees don't really have much of a clue about selling or any experience to be as knowledgeable as Soolin. Why not work out who the experienced sellers on Ebay who post on here and see what they have to say and why you may be wrong?

Well if the thread you started in October 2011 is anything to go by, you DID used to.

Isn't it annoying when you get 9 watchers on an item and the auction ends without a sale ? It's not like it's a rare or highly collectible item or anything. Ruddy annoying making you think you will have bidders. Shame you can't get your own back on them.
