Hi Lilian..followed you over from the August Challenge;)

Can I recommend the Tilly Tidy method? Every day you round your current account down to the nearest pound ( or 10pounds) or whatever you choose really and that loose change gets moved across to your savings account. Simples. It's a great incentive and a great way of building up your account without really noticing.

Not to say you shouldn't do a DD too..but as they say every little helps.:rotfl:

    Thanks pippi xx

Good idea brizzle although I very rarely have any money spare as its all allocated to different pots and I rarely use my debit card. Will do it if I can though!

I don't think I'll be able to save very much this year but want to at least start the process. I have subscribed to that thread though so I can see when the 2014 thread is started, I will be joining that challenge for sure!

Well yesterday I opened the First Direct 6% regular savings account with the intention of filling it as much as possible before the maturation (12 months) - minimum of £25 a month, maximum of £300 and the amount can roll over every month.

    Fingers crossed!

I have got some extra overtime at work for next week, so that'll be an extra few £ to save :)
I get paid tomorrow, so will (hopefully) be able to bank £50.

    Good morning!
So, it's Friday..which means its saving day!
I had forgotten that i have to pay for my contents insurance this week, so am only going to be able to save £24.54 this week.

But every little helps! Transferring it into my )previously empty) savings account now :)
