Keeping away from the Money Beast

  • Morning,
Well for some one that was having a quiet week its turned into a busy one...why does that always happen just before pay day?

I had friends over Monday (with takeaway) and Tuesday, last night we were at the soft play (for free because we have a voucher), tonight is the school disco, I paid £8.50 for the school trip this morning and last night I bought the tickets for Halloween £5.50.

Anyway, money isn't looking very good but I still have a bit left in my car and christmas pots.

Pay day tomorrow, I was so excited to see my pay slip this month, with my new job role and with the cost of living rise I managed to get a 7.7% rise. Only thing is, the extra is going towards my solicitors bill, which is around £300.

No Mirrors (with the Aldi voucher in) in the shop at work today boooo, but the canteen Manager is popping out so is picking me one up. Bless him.

    Wish tomorrow would hurry up!

  • Morning,

OK so I don't feel great this morning, my tummy is all chewed up and I just want to cry all the time.

I had a falling out with x at the weekend as DD didn't want to go with him to London, so he blamed me and said I manipulate her. Anyway as a result he hasn't paid me her maintenance money and said he was taking me to court (for what?). Anyway I spent yesterday afternoon on the phone to the CSA so at least I won't have this issue every month.

So Im left back at square one with money, good job I didn't go out spending at the weekend then, also a good job I got a payrise, which accounts for half of the maintenance money.

I used my voucher for Aldis on Sunday so spent £35 in there and £90 in Mr T, as a treat I bought a few bits from M&S (£15). So that should do us for 2 weeks until I just need fresh stuff, Ill print off my menu plan for the month today.

Blimey how flat is this post? Ill re-post when Ive sorted my miserable face out.

    xx

Oh Livvy poor you, hope youre feeling more upbeat now.

What an @rse your x is. So good that youre sorted with your money or else you could be in a real pickle. From what ive read, I reckon in a few years DD will want nothing to do with him.

    Hope youre okxx

  • Aw thank you Mummy, I am feeling a bit better today but only because I know my rights now and I won't be seeing x until Sunday. He dropped DD off at the door last night and I said, would you like her to sleep Saturday and he said...You had best ask her! How mature is that? So yes you're right mummy, it won't be long before DD won't go at all.

As for money, I signed the consent order last night and it appears that x has been giving me £50 a month less than what Im entitled to from CSA, so hopefully they will catch up with him soon and I will have a bit spare again.

Ive been and bought a Dyson from Mr Als this morning, probs not a good idea in my situation but it was a really good deal.

Ive finished buying DD's Christmas pressies now so I hope she doesn't change her mind before Christmas ha ha...like kids do.

We're going out Halloweening tonight, its the first year Ive knocked on doors with DD, we're only going to people we know though and then on to a couple of parties.

  • Hi Diary,
Well its been boring weekend as far as weekends go for me.

Huge fight with x on Friday over me going to the CSA and also about DD not wanting to sleep at his house...again blaming me. So I basically told him that I wouldn't stand for his bullying anymore and as far as Im concerned he can do one. Im still going through the CSA like it or not. DD went to sleep at his house no problem in the end, we had a chat and she was happy to be big and brave and make Mummy proud.

DD's child minder is finishing after Xmas...great! Need to find a new one now. Although I do have the name of one that DD already knows, and she is looking into it for me.

Money...not doing too badly. I should get through the month on what I have planned, we have got through worse!

DD didn't come back with the clothes she went in on Saturday, think x has decided to keep them...afterall he thinks the money he gives me for DD belongs to him. DD will be going in her scruffs from now on.

I look how far we've come in two years and really this pettiness from x is nothing...so why does it bother me?

  • Morning Diary,

Well I am feeling a bit more positive today. The new childminder can fit DD in so we are off to meet her at some point with my list of questions. She sounds lovely and she said she would love to have DD as she is such a lovely girl.

CSA called yesterday to say they have issued x with a letter because he has ignored the 3 phone calls they have given him. The day the letter is sent is the day he has to start paying from...which is yesterday! This means he has only missed one week. Not sure when I will see any of it mind.

I need to pop for some mid month food at the weekend, just some fresh stuff for our lunches. Ive got about £50 left in the food budget so if I do the shop in Mr Als that will well and truly cover it.

I have been drawing £50 a week to get through the month, and so far so good. Only 19 days until pay day.

I built DD's Christmas pressies on Sunday and put them in the loft, its the only place she won't see them...blooming hawk eyes doesn't miss a trick.

I have decided now that Im divorced to have as little contact with x as possible...we discuss arrangements for DD and thats it.

  • Morning Diary,

Well its two weeks until pay day and Im not doing too badly...even without x's maintenance. Im not as skint as I normally am this time of month, I still have petrol allowance left and Ive got £172 in my everything else pot. Mind you, I got £15 back from my Next complaint and £125 for joining First Direct so thats helped.

Ive bought all of DD's xmas pressies now, although I need a few stocking fillers. I bought a few pressies in the Debenhams sales yesterday too for other people.

Called the CSA, they said that x is claiming he doesn't always earn as much as he has done in his last couple of pay slips as he is in a temporary role, so he is trying to pay me less. I called them back and spoke to a nice chap who said that some temporary positions turn into permanent ones so they will base it on his last two payslips. We will see anyway. Don't think Ill get anything this side of Xmas but it will all be back dated.

Met up with new Child Minder at the weekend, she seems lovely and I have worked her bill out to be exactly the same as the bill I get now.

I have put holidays in for every Friday before xmas now, so it will be like working part time. Then Im off for two weeks over xmas.

  • Today has been a bit of a spend day, there was a discount day on at one of our local stores so I went along and bought Christmas Pressies, foundation, calpol (the cheap one) and some lovely candle holders plus candles. I was in a bit of a rush as I was on my lunch but could have spent a whole lot more if I wasn't.

Wallpaper mostly up in the living room, a bit dissapointed as I got up this morning to find shrinkage grrr. DD's felt tip pen works a dream though.

X is now taking me to court as he wants his access changing to DD because he has decided to move an hour away...his choice Im afraid. This is one I will be fighting as DD has commitments in this town and its not practical to take her away for a full weekend...besides she is only 5. Oh not forgetting he has only had her stay over 6 times this year...suddenly he wants her alot more now that Ive gone to the csa about the money. Me thinks its sour grapes or he is after his 52 nights discount.

Wouldn't it be nice just to have five minutes peace.

    Off work tomorrow :D

  • Hi Livvy,

Hope youre having a nice weekend.

Cant believe ex is wanting to change how long he has DD, I bet is it all to do with him paying you less. Shocking really if that is why!

  • Morning diary,

Its freezing today, I had to de ice my car rear windscreen this morning and I haven't got much de-icer left so I will have to put that on my shopping list. I am not standing and scraping it on a morning.

I was £36 OD this morning after Fridays little shop. I moved the money from the home and emergency pot. I don't think thats too bad considering Im £380 short. Talking of which I rang the csa again yesterday and he has sent them his payslips and DD instructions but it doesn't look like Ill get anything until 1st Jan.

Mummy, X will be getting a letter off the solicitor some time this week, he has made me very cross on a couple of occassions and Im not standing for it. I don't feel like he is caring for DD correctly when she is in his care. All he cares about is that he has her for his discount...he actually went to work over night and left her with his girlfriend!

Only 6 days until pay day.

Had a look at home insurance on line and I reckon I could save a tennar a month, I'll bring the documents in and set it up tomorrow.
