    I return :D

£8 in the pot today after I sold DH's old coat on FB :D

I had my hair cut off earlier in the week by a lady I found on the FB selling pages :o she charged £16 for a restyle and was mobile so thought that was a pretty good deal. My hair was actually so far down my back I physically couldnt reach far enough behind me to comb the shampoo and conditioner out in the shower so have had about 6 - 7 inches cut off the back and its now shoulder length :o

I feel very strange having my hair so short and for the first time in 18 months havent got to put it up in a pony tail, but its soooooo much easier to manage and im much less tired when I get out of the shower now :o I really didnt realise how much it took out of me just to wash my hair

I also got Miss Lilys cut as she charged a £5er for children and she had 4 inches cut off so can also have her hair down without it becoming a hopeless knotty mess (DH is veeeeeery pleased about this as he has to do the mornings ;))

My weekly shopping bill is going ok, ive got about £13 left of this weeks money but will only need bread, carrots, potatoes and parsnips really so should be fine :)

It does make me feel sad to read the amount of people who find it a financial struggle each christmas :( buy within your budget, if the recipient doesnt appreciate the thought they were not worth a more expensive gift anyway :( and I know I bang on about them but DO DO DO try the FB selling pages not only for selling but for buying, there are alot of people on the ones im on selling new items they've made, bought and dont use or who are traders but cheaper than shops. There is also no end of good quality second hand items, Its mad what you can get. DS had a second hand punching bag off ours last christmas for £25, when we got it it was full of propper padding and weighted at the bottom  we thought it would be stuffed with old clothes or something!

I was brought up by my mum to believe, second hand doesnt mean second class ;)

Hmm that turned into a bit of a ramble didnt it! sorry!!

Well done on the early Christmas shopping dreamerhelen....and I hope your course was worth getting out of your cosy bed for :)

I've picked up a few C-pressies too including my DD's "big" pressie which is very early and organised for me :A

Not potted much as not been spending much - DS gave me his change this morning though (19p) and I potted a very shiny 1p roadkill yesterday.

I'm off to take jakes-mum's advice and get FB selling

    Have a good Saturday :)

£1 for the pot and after chemo yesterday (still feeling ok at the moment) I treated myself to a lovely pink Leighton Denny nail polish. My finger nails have suffered a lot during chemo and look heavily ridged and one nail has slightly lifted from nail bed. There's a lot of nail polished nails in that chemo unit. I sat next to a lovely lady called Edna who had lovely manicured nails for the same reason. They do it for her at the hospice. So she inspired me a bit to go get a new colour (I've become bored with the ones I have). Six hours of chatting away to other cancer patients in the unit does me good.

Hope all are having a lovely weekend.

little_sweetie - another tip re foodbank cheap stuff. Check the Lidl half-price weekend offers like the uht milk for 26p per litre. They always seem to need milk and 26p is cheap. 17p chocolate if you can part with it. lol
Jam and biscuits are cheap in Lidl and Aldi also.
My stuff was dropped off today and nice to see they were well stocked. They do well over the Xmas time, probably down to "guilt donations", but they also receive large donations from local businesses.
Sad they need to exist, but every little donation helps.

Thanks Lynsey, we don't have a Lidl close by but we do have Aldi so I might investigate. I do so agree that it's so sad to need the foodbanks at all, yet it warms my heart to see people helping others in their hour of need.
Its my first Christmas where I've had to buy presents for others on my own and I'm struggling not only slightly with money but with what to buy for people. I'm not too close with my family.

charleybear, I do feel it's important to set yourself a budget for each person but it doesn't have to be huge. It's much nicer to get a small well thought out gift than a big one that you will never use/need. I just think of what each person likes. For example; do they drink wine? are they chocoholics? would they like a gift card from their favourite shop? do they have a hobby? As long as the gift is nicely wrapped they should be appreciated. Don't worry too much. It's not worth getting into debt in an effort to impress :)
Bless your F-I-L, little_sweetie! Isn't it wicked what tickets out of
this world cost!!!! For our dearest Mary it cost £3,300 and to my mind that's
absolutely criminal, nothing fancy either. They must earn a ruddy fortune....but
surely they can't sleep at night?!

I know Sue, it's truly wicked but to be honest FiL had a fair idea what he would have to pay. It was me who was shocked! How can they justify what they charge tut tut....

Just a few pence to pot today as I bought 3 more items for the food bank and 2 charities were waving collecting tins at me as I left the store  Purse now totally empty & £13 in the bank until the end of the month :eek:

    Glad you're ok Nell...big <<HUG>> x
