    Hi all,

Another £142 from the sealed pot, it was full so had to bank it!

    Will update sig :)
  • Wow I have just read all of this thread and I'm hooked. I've only really found MSE in the last couple of days and there is so much good stuff on here.
Is it too late to join this thread with only two months to go?
I had my LBM in the last few days and one of the things I did yesterday was go round the whole house searching for change to put in a pot - then I found you lot!
I know I am not going to make much between now and November 28th but I hope it will give me an incentive to do it. I am also sticking to only change less than £1 - things are tight enough round here as it is!
I would like to set myself a target of £20 by 28th November. I know it sounds a bit feeble but it will make a difference honestly.

Thank you jakes-mum, I suffered through work and church today and am now taking a well earned rest on the sofa watching the X factor :D Rubbish, but entertaining ;)

I love "You've got mail" too Nell, one of my favourite films :) Weather has been awful here today as well :(

AbbylouE1, welcome to our wonderful thread. We're a bunch of nutters here as you've probably noticed :D Everything makes a difference, even £20 and it's never too late to join us! :) Have you read the information on the first page yet? Sue will be along to assign you your potting number shortly :)

I didn't manage to pot anything today unfortunately :( There was a stray 1p on the staff room table at work today, but I resisted it just in case...

welocome abbylou! always welcome here on the SPC challenge thread :D If you like you can just save till opening day in november and then start again with the rest of us, or if its feeling too light when the time comes you can always carry it over to next november instead :D entirely your choice.

Ahh Dinglefoot, you take good care of yourself and stay nice and warm, so many people seem to have come down with something with this rapid change in temperature :(

LC2, I reacon your hubby and mine would get on like a house on fire, if we introduced them they could go fishing together and we could go roadkill hunting in sparkyland together :D:D we could even pop round sparkys for a cup of tea and a nice big slice of cake, he'd like that ;)

£2 coin today in my pot :j :j though I have realised I am a prize twit  went to superdrug to get some lynx stuff for jake for his stocking thinking 'ooo I can use some of that love2shop voucher', well the till it say no, so I fire off a narky email to the company saying their giftcard dont work, send DH to argos to pick up some bits I pre-ordered and think, well he can try the card again just incase it was a superdrug issue. DH says 'are you sure you dont have to activate it?' and im sure you dont, ive carefully read all the T&C's on the back of the little card it came in and theres no mention.
Off he goes and nope, card still doesnt work  well I open the card to find the info to contact flexecash direct as it says they have 24/7 help and written under where the card was stuck is 'you have to activate this card, please visit our website to do so' :o obviously this is totally not my fault as only a man would write something that important underneath where the blummin card goes! :rotfl:

Glad you're feeling OK Nell, and you're on the mend Dinglefoot :)

Back to work tomorrow after the lurgy, feeling quite chipper today so hope it's all over now!

    Take care everyone

abbeylou - you are very welcome to join us. £20 will make a dent in shopping/pressies come Xm*s time, and its better than not saving anything.

Word of warning this potting malarkey gets very addictive and we all try to encourage each other (most of the time - lol).

I'm off for another lot of chemo tomorrow - so will catch up with you all in about a weeks time. In the meantime take care everyone and get potting :)

  • Managed to put £2 in my £2 coin tin

and must be not far off £1.50 in my spare change tin!

Bought a new phone the other day and it's put a dent in my savings so i'm going to try and catch up there.

It cost £200 and i've managed to pay £175 out of my savings...will get paid on Wednesday and i have about £30 in overtime due in. I know it's not much but every penny counts and it will go straight into the saving pot.

I'm going to try and be as thrifty as possible between 18th September and 18th October. As i do have Go Ape (£30), A weekend in Nottingham and a 10km run in the next few weeks...it's going to be a toughy.

Every penny saved will go towards my holiday funds!

Also i'm thinking of buying some Royal Mail shares when they privatise...£750 minimum eek.
