Morning all, hope those under the weather are feeling better.
Trying not to put the heating on and crossing fingers for that Indian Summer.
Not potted much, trying to be as frugal as possible this month (at least).
I'll still get bits from little bits of shopping though.
Potted £2.30 today and hoping to make that up to around £10 by the weekend.
£526+ potted so far.

It's freezing today! I wore my winter coat for the first time since May/June today! I was disappointed to find that I hadn't left any change in the pockets
Speaking of blackberries, my OH picked some a couple of weekends ago and put them in an ice cream tub of water. They now smell like they're turning into gin. I presume that's normal? I don't like blackberries, so he's been dealing with them...I'm guessing they're no longer really edible and should be used to make alcohol?
I'm potting 72p todaySPC '21 #0750 -

Hypnotherapist came today and was a lovely ladybit crazy just like me so we got on like a house on fire, have agreed to a session with her same time next week, its costing £65 a session  but as DH said, if it works its worth every penny

DS has just broken my heart todaygave me his christmas list (mark II) and on it is a £60 football shirt . . . for barcelona!  traitorous little so and so! his grandad is going to be mortified! Now obviously if it had been a Man U shirt I would have been happy to remove £60 from my purse, but for this 'other' team! pfft :rotfl:

Well I got distracted and went to meet some friends for dinner as hubby away at conference, picked a cheap place doing week night deals and my friends offered to pay, so the only polite thing was to accept of course
My blackberries are still in a pot, was meant to do so much tonight (including some work and washing/ironing + ebaying) but guess it will just have to wait til tomorrow or another day!

Ahh Sue im loving the new car, though got serious new car syndrome! I dont want anyone within 10 ft of it at any time, nearly shouted out the window at one of the kids from the street when they rode their bike up the curb in front of my bonnet  had to restrain myself :rotfl: though if he had wobbled and scratched my paintwork id have had him by the ear up the road to his mum (told you my new car syndrome was bad
All the very best with your 'problems', jakes-mum,our lass has the same, the IBS and nerves due to the fear of it whenever she goes out. Good luck with the hypnotherapist and know we're thinking of you, you too, dinglefoot.sparky0107 wrote: »Morning Crimson.Addict
I can honestly say that after being official Counter Upperrer for the last few years I still get excited when the grand total is nearing last years total, then when it passes it there's such a buzz. The amount of people who have been converted to savers rather than spenders thanks to Sue's :A efforts keeping this thread going still amazes me, how she keeps it up all the time is a mystery to me. In 12 weeks time that buzz is going to be taking over again.
That's why it's so important for everyone to have their number in their signature plus if they bank any money to also add that to it. The spreadsheet is ready and I'm adding new members as and when they join our close knit community.
Nice find on the £40 BTW :T
Have a great day
You're too kind, sparky, thanks so very much for your kind words, but fact is I wouldn't have been able to manage it all without a great counter upper!!! :j
Good to see you again, Helen, though very sorry to hear of your Granddad's passing. A phone call to your Dad and Grandma will mean a lot and always lets them know you're thinking of them. Time is what both need, especially your Grandma. All best wishes.
Best of luck with your last assignment of the module you're on, Nell,....and for the one to come!!
Rosy, it's wonderful to see how, with your Dr's help, you seem to be getting over all the horrors of IBS. Very well done!
Well saved, HOK3Y, though however can you count it up when the pot's sealed??? Mmmm
Excellent news about holding back, MissE, I'm really proud of you! :TSouthernman wrote:I've been on holiday in Cornwall the last week and I have 9 £2 coins for my pot and not far off £2 for my stray change pot!
I love this game!
It's almost like free unexpected money!!!!!
I hope you had a lovely holiday, Southernman, though SPC - a GAME?????!!! This is serious stuff and that's why we save so well. I take your point though as it feels a lot like a game with all the excitement it generates. Keep loving it.
I hope that cold soon clears off, mishmogs. How's your German visitor getting on?e4rub wrote:I am banking another £30 tomorrow, which means I have banked a HUGE £205 :j:j:j
I now have enough money saved for my parents to get me an I-Pad when they go to Florida in 2 weeks time:D
I actually can not believe that we have saved enough money and I just wanted to say a massive thanks to Sue and all the rest of you potters for keeping me motivated since November........I truly believe that if it wasn't for all of you I would not have saved this money and would have dipped into my pot and lost focus............So, Thank you xxxxxxxxxx
Emily, DH and 3 kids xxxxxxxx
That's FANTASTIC news, Emily!!!!! :j You've really done your best to save hard this year....and almost succeeded - well, there's the rest of the time till November, so keep at it.
Don't worry about not counting, pinkpig, from now on keep looking ahead to a lovely surprise - the majority of us do anyway, me too!!
Such a shame about your Nephew, Ruth, it must have been hard for him to understand, but he still WON!! You still sound as though you might benefit from a check-up with your Dr. I'm not a great one for them either, but when needs must.........! Stay healthy, with positive thoughts!
Well done, Willow, though only keep an update if you wish as it's not obligatory.dinglefoot wrote:My OH normally grumbles about me potting away money, but to my utter surprise he just waved a £5 note at me and told me he was going to put it in the pot  I'm putting in £1.50 today, so £6.50 all together today
Good for him, dinglefoot, lets hope he'll continue!
It won't be too much longer to wait, ChristmasCarol, and then it'll be just amazing to have the surprise!EverTheOptimist wrote:Can't believe it's nearly opening day. I really don't want time to go too quickly, and I don't want 2014 here just yet. Otherwise it'll mean I am on countdown back to work from my mat leave. Booooo.
Oh that'll be horrible, ETO, but at least you've had the chance to get to know each other well, and those first months are gifts as his he!
I also went blackberry picking at the weekend, 3 delicious crumbles made and they're our favourite pud.
Ah, nearly forgot, £20 in the pot!!Have a lovely day tomorrow, folks, keep saving!
