Morning all!
First time doing this challenge...I was too scared we'd need to use some of that money so I didn't actually have a pot that was sealed...have had to dip in about half a dozen times, so my total is only £65.30. Have put the odd 30p back to start again.
Now I've had a taste of the challenge this year, I will definitely get one of those moneyboxes from the £ shop that you have to use a can opener to get at the contents...
Well done to everyone who's had a go... :-)SPC 0930 -

Hi again, cdm, and congratulations on your savings!!!! :T Yes, it may have been more if you'd not dipped in, but it would probably have been nowt if you'd saved nothing! Be happy and proud of it.
Yes, by all means buy a sealed tin, but why not think about safeguarding some cash for weekly necessities? Try using a 'holding pot'. This was brought in as some members were finding they were potting cash so fast without thinking they might need some for things. It then upset them as they then needed to break into their pots for things they'd forgotten to keep change out for.
So, if you have change perhaps on a Monday, it makes far more sense to put it into a 'holding pot/purse' just in case you need it i.e. For the youngsters, parking or anything else - then later in the week - put what's left into your Sealed Pot so you know it can stay in there and, with luck, won't be touched any more.
So, you pop it in there for X amount of days or until the end of the week/month and THEN put it away and possibly get ready to the same with the next lot you get. Be strict with yourself though and - don't forget to put the 'holding pot/purse' in a very safe place!sparky0107 wrote:Sue

Oh Ruth, what a rotten shame, but never mind, at least you know it's safe and not left on a bus or whatever. Have a {{{HUG}}} (There's always one folks! Just don't tell Ruth that!)Please, EVERYONE, check that you have your Nos on your signatures! Many thanks.Sue x
