    I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

hummingbird - welcome and good luck.

Sue - thank you and added to sig. ;)

little_sweetie - I set a budget to help foodbanks and a few who needed help. I also gave a lot of free stuff from using vouchers (free soup, beans etc). Sadly, I'm giving it a miss next year as there is some abuse going on which I'm not comfortable with (sadly others suffer). I may donate more direct next year and know where the stuff is going to.
I'll delete the sig soon though.

DreamerHelen - bless you. Make sure you get next years Xmas pressies "free" also.

    I potted 4 x £1 coins today.

£647+ potted now and I'll get another £18 and then put the rest into my holding pot to top up any shortages when counting up. Anything left over can be counted also or to start next year off.
I'll get that £700 though (initial target was £300 - lol).

Thanks for the explanation Lynsey and I'm so sorry I spelled your name wrong :o

Isn't it sad when some people take advantage of other's generosity and spoil it for others in genuine need....I make my food donations to the local church where I can only hope that it's distributed fairly by referral from the proper sources.

BTW you are doing amazingly well with potting, well done!

Have a lovely day all (sunny here :cool2:) I'm off to do my free eB*y listing!

  • Oh my gosh - I'm so thankful for my mum.
I must have been so tired last night that I put all my recuipts to throw out into a pile and in with it was a £5 note.

I hadn't realised until mum said "You've got some money there"

Hi Willow, if you are declaring £40 potted for SPC #6 you need to shout it out for dear old sparky to put on his spreadsheet! It's still a good amount and came in handy for pressies, well done!

Hi nell  so glad it's all over at last, now just relax and get ready for shhhh... CHRISTMAS ......:)

I thought I would *check in* and let you all know how I have been getting on this year with my saving efforts. I'm annoyed with myself because I haven't been doing the sealed pot properly this year. :( I start (and have the best of intentions) but then I end up raiding the pot .... usually because I've spent too much and need the money to see me through to the end of the month.

I've started again recently and hope to stick with it - I've got a huge 750g coffee pot which I intend to have a good go at filling :D Meanwhile I've got a couple of those count up pots (one for 50 pence coins and one for 5p coins) and it will be interesting to see how much can be saved in these.

edited to add I can't decide whether I want to count up my money as I go along or let it be a surprise next year?
