Money. I need the money the job is paying like 2 weeks worth of bills its hard to say no when i don't know if i will be able to get that money else where.

You can decline the assignment by clicking the X button on the right - just explain that you don't fit the criteria. I agree with the others in here about not meeting the requirements.

Anyone still working for IMS? Getting half tempted to give them a second chance if they've chaned their staff and attitudes.

I only do heir mystery shops and merchandising when they up the pay, I will not take a job without a brief (their usual trick) or work for poor fees. You can negotiate if you are taking a load of work from them, if they paid well to start off they wouldn't be stuck with the jobs mind. I have just done a weeks worth of their food surveys and they were quick, easy and well paid for the work needed.

And what will this do? Any fees you impose have to be in agreement, not unilaterally imposed because you are peed off. As for an 'admin' fee fee of £50 followed by £10pd, who do you thing you are Wonga?

At least their customers were told of the charges up front - what you propose is completely unenforceable, and they'll fall about at the idiocy of it all.

I would suggest you read up on Late Payment Legislation!!!! I have used it successfully a number of times. It's essential for small business owners.

In the email that just came through, under the 'Top Reminders this Month!' section, it says ...

All assignments completed in May will been processed payment on the 8th July 2014 (due to bank holiday USA)

    Still nothing received

I've not either bit if it's being processed today then I guess it will take a day or two to hit our accounts unless you are smooth talking like Superliss and get paid early!

    Hi everyone,
I'm new to MSE and MSing, and this looks like a very helpful forum! I was wondering how long it takes to become established with a MS company?

I've signed up to 4 companies - MF, gap, GFK and TNS. I've done a few for MF and gap now, but so far I've only seen phone shops on TNS and TV providers on GFK.

I was considering signing up to ESA but I don't want to give them my national insurance number (what do they need it for if you're self employed?) and recent comments on here seem to suggest jobs are becoming few anyway. What are other people's views?

MF and Gap will basically be the same stuff whether you've been with them 2 weeks or 2 years. TNS are now virtually all phones and financial. ESA have fewer and fewer clients. You need to sign up to as many MSC as possible to get a chance of a variety of assignments.

Personally I don't have any problem with providing my NI number, I always assumed it was a way that HMRC checked that people registered with a MSC were registered as self employed.

I get a lot of work from ESA and like the easy telephone call assignments. There is a lot of work on there now for anyone who is interested. They certainly pay better than MF or Gyp.

I can't even get registered with them, despite saying they need people in my postcode. Sign-up is by giving your email address then they send you a form apparently. I've tried twice with different email accounts, but no success.

I would agree you need to sign up for as many companies as possible as they all have periods of 'drought' when they don't have jobs in your area or not ones you want to do which in my case is 'cars'. Interesting that ESA have got more jobs as last winter they had absolutely zero for months for the lesser mortals like myself who are not on their other lists..
