I am hopping to start video shopping soon. I notice that PIP are offering Video shopping equipment and training for approx £700. Has anyone done this training? Did they feel they benefited from it? Or can you self learn to video shop? Any comments thoughts suggestions most welcome.

I didn't have any training, but I did loads of practice with my camera. Think I paid around £700 in total (including spare battery) from Dogcam, but I think they are a bit cheaper now. Some companies want to see samples before they take you on. PIP are very particular.

In the first 6 months I didn't do many assignments due to lack of confidence, then one company offered me 30 and I haven't looked back.

Must admit, I don't get many in my local area (the northeast), so I end up traveling around 2 days a week. Wish I could get more in my local area.

    Good luck.

Is anyone having problems uploading receipts to ABA-i at the moment?. Their reports system is not accepting them when I try to upload.

EDIT: It's a browser issue. Used a different one and it's fine now.

Yeah it doesn't work in IE but does with Firefox...

It wouldn't work me in Firefox but did in Google Chrome!

    Bizarre.

I know this wasn't a report written as an health professional (my day job is working with people with LD), but I can't help it! :/

I'm in a similar line of work to you - and one of the good things about mystery shopping is that I thought there were unlikely to be any conflicts of interest. This just shows that you can never say never, as the saying goes!

The briefing notes, in the profile section, in big bold letters ....

I'm not being deliberately awkward. I always seem to manage it though, without the deliberate bit!

I think we must be at cross-purposes, possibly because I haven't mentioned the client. The profile says nothing about a way round it on the one I'm looking at, and the restrictions section beneath the profile section says, in bold:-

"You MUST NOT be a member of XXXXXXXX This includes any other people in your visiting party."

Apparently there's a Scottish brief and a different English brief :)

I did a slapper assignment where the MOS had learning difficulties. Not Downs but was pretty obvious once the interaction commenced. I assessed as per the brief so in some areas it was a "No"and in the section asking if I had any issues completing the form I mentioned it there. The service given was perfectly acceptable as far as I was concerned but it's not for me to apply my own interpretation to the brief. I am sure client's employing people from all sections of society use their common sense when the MS report arrives.

I have been mystery shopping most of this year for various agencies and not had any issues with payments at all. However for payments, end of June begining of July I have now had 4 agencies pay me incorrectly, is this normal? :(

Slap your backside twice while thinking about it and doing your weekly shop at the same time , it should then become clear, unless you never watch tv adverts
