    Can I ask?
If you know a site (a certain burger company) know you as the mystery shopper? Do you play along with it? There is a site which is in a large town centre and clearly there is enough shoppers around but no one ever shops it, (hence always a decent premium) because as soon as you say the word receipt all hell breaks fire. Even a customer asked me if I was a mystery shopper. As the duty manager approached me 3 separate times as I ate to check everything was okay and then apologized as he said the manager is paranoid. I then said you can get me a free cup of tea in which he accepted and then I said no worries I was only joking. But if I fed that back then I would be banned from the site. It's a joke about time there was more variety and less predictability in orders. What would you do in this situation?

If it pays well, then just go along with it and don't mention that you think the restaurant staff are on to you or the offer of a free cup of tea.

I also wouldnt ever ask for anything free, even in jest.

If you give a bad rating for anything, they will bring it up guaranteed.
You should be impartial and I never accept free drinks from places even in overt audits unless its a hot/long day and professionally acceptable in the circumstances rather than risk being seen as a bribe

What's peoples views of writing a report while at the location? I'm talking mainly about pub visits, sandwich shop visits where there's free wifi and lots of people on iPads, etc so you wouldn't look suspicious?

If you're caught on camera you won't get paid and you may well get the sack too.

Help from experienced shoppers please. MF are refusing to pay me for an assignment, first time this has ever happened. I did a combo online and phone assignment for them. I followed their brief to the letter and when I received the required call back, I answered my phone and said I was running out of battery and asked them to call me back the following day, within office hours (which were the visit times specified). MF are now saying that I should have accepted the call. The brief did not state that it had to be accepted at any time of the day or night. The are saying the visit times only applied to sending the email, but this was not clear. Anyway, regardless- I did accept the call- I just asked them to call me back. They did not call me back and they also did not answer their phone within office hours and I tried twice, as the briefing notes stated. So I do not believe I am in the wrong, I acted in good faith on the information I was provided with. I have argued my point, but any advice?

Once they dig their heels in they won't back down. Was it a reimbursement job?

Does anyone know which MS organisation carry out the CLIENT NAME visits? I understand that they have had some for posting items to check if BRIEF MENTIONED. Not seen these anywhere though.

yes but we do not discuss clients or briefs openly

do you / family member run one and want to find out the details of what your being checked on then i take it... ?

I got a modest payment - but I know what it was for!

Did you do something which involved contacting someone without visiting them?

big no no as usually in the brief not to, so regardless of whether you could or not, you never should.

you never know who is watching, who is on a break with a coat on next to you that happens to be the manager etc
plus if your seen by a member doing it here, as has been before with burger jobs, youll get slated by nearly everyone on here for doing so.,

in other words... wait till you go somewhere else...
