I am looking at car insurance and just wondered what to select as 'Occupation' as Mystery Shopper doesn't appear in the options - not unexpected!

    Auditor or Market Researcher
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?

I selected "auditor" when I recently renewed my car insurance.
  • Do payments from Grass roots show on your bank statement as
    "The Grass roots GR" ?

My other half has just had a random payment from that into her bank so we're just trying to trace what it could be (she's not done mystery shopping before, so if it is this, likely to be an error!)

  • Mystery solved, its the new name for her childcare voucher company!

However, having googled to find the name of the company and then coming across this thread, mystery shopping sounds like a good idea!

How much can people earn a month doing it?

Nothing (based on doing reimbursement jobs only-i.e free meals or clothing etc) to whatever time you are willing to commit to it multiplied by approximately minimum wages less travel costs. Some jobs do pay much more than minimum wages but they are quite rare.
    :footie:
:p Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S) :p Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money. :p

dont forget to add on business cover too not standard commuting. is usually only few pounds more or you will not be adequately covered
  • Did some RA pharmacies today -- haven't done that scenario before -- quite startling to be recommended the product for the first time ever!

Also, on car insurance, mine was slightly less when I got business travel added to my quote (I started MSing and renewed about the same time). The ways of insurance companies never fail to baffle me.

Though if you're branching out into doing POS installs, etc, it's probably worth putting yourself down as Merchandiser.

As for car insurance, I had a quote for one of my toy cars a while back. Third Party = £1200, so I went the whole hog and got fully comp for £84 :undecided
