Gotta say this thread has given me a giggle, glad im not the only one who has done something daft like this. Luckily my mum saw the funny side and we had a few laughs about turning up this year and getting told 'your a little early ladies' haha

Unfortunately I doubt it will be the last time I make a fool of myself, my common sense is in need of a service.... last week I was on at hubby to put petrol in the car, 3 days later it was on the red and still he hadn't filled up (i'm the organised one and like everything done whereas he's so laid back he's almost horizontal). In the afternoon hubby suggested we go for a family bike ride seen as it was a nice day and I replied with 'good idea, we can go to Tesco and you can put the petrol in while we're there'........ took me a while to work out why he was laughing at me!
  • yesterday I went arrange the of return a dress i'd bought but was too big (bagged it up ready to go back on the day it arrived). anyway, went onto the company website and it wouldn't allow me to make any returns so checked my orders - it was delivered on 26th april :(

I remember once when I went shopping with my Mother in the Arndale shopping centre of Manchester, on approaching a store she was obstructed by someone leaving the store. Politely, my Mother stepped to one side, as did the other person, a sweet smile and my Mother stepped to the other side, only for this person to do likewise.

This to-in and throwing continued for a considerable time resulting in my frustrated Mother to argue with them, this argument continued and culminated in quite a crowd gathering.

Not wanting to cause any more of a scene I decided enough was enough and pointed out that she has been talking to her own reflection for the past 10 minutes. Its been a good 25 Years since, but I still remind her of it to this day. :D:D

Went to see Disney On Ice when I was kid/teenager with my Mum, my cousin and my Auntie. We rolled up to the NIA in Birmingham, got in line with our tickets and started noticing the show time was different to everyone elses. When we panicked and checked, we'd turned up one month early!!! :rotfl: Luckily the staff took pity and changed our tickets so we could see the show on the night.

Another one is went on a family holiday to Disneyworld in Florida and left the bloody Disney flexi tickets at home!!!! Had to get them all replaced by a Virgin rep.

Same holiday, left the keys to my suitcase lock at home and had to get some nice American on hotel reception to jack knife it open with a screwdriver. :D

Do they by any chance smell like burnt nose hair? :p

I've just booked tickets to see a film tonight and thanks to this thread I've checked the booking about eight times to make sure it's the right cinema, on the right day and at the right time!

    And I've just remembered...

Yesterday I went to pick up my glasses from the opticians, as I was walking back through the bus station I saw that the bus home had just pulled in 'oh great' i thinks to myself 'what good timing, I can just nip on this now' and it was only the fact that I had my car keys in my hand that stopped me :rotfl:

Well, one night i had had a bit too much to drink and hit the 'redial' button on my phone, thinking that the last number i had called was my then boyfriend.

So i heard (what i THOUGHT was) his voice saying hello, and began a very explicit second-by-second account account of what i would like to do to him once he returned to my house that night.....

Then i heard my best friend and her husband on the end of the phone, laughing their heads off...i had forgotten that SHE was the last person i had called, and her husband had answered and put it on speaker phone...

    OH THE SHAME!!

Good thing your bestie is understanding, if she was paranoid/psychotic it could've turned into a massive drama accusing you of having an affair with her hubby!

When I was at University I had a term working with deaf kids at a local school, I really enjoyed it but I was also a typical student and left my work to the last minute, which needless to say lead to a lot of cramming and last minute write ups of my work.

Well I had to write up a 4000 word essay on my work experience term and was doing the final draft at 4 am in the morning for a 9am deadline. I was shattered and really just wanted to get this damn thing printed off and handed in.

However in my half asleep state and not having time to do a thorough proof read before handing in my assignment, it was very unfortuate that I happen to miss-spell "deaf" a couple of times. You see D and F are next to each other on the keyboard.

I ended up with sentences that read something like "I really enjoyed working with dead people, often they are found by society to be ignored and undervalued, but if you are able to give them a little bit of time and respect, dead people are really able to improve their self confidence and excel in life"

Oh I still want the ground to swallow me up when I remember my lecturer asking me to change the typos and reprint!

My best mate came to visit me at University. I introduced him to my housemates, including Vicky & Vicky. To which he asked "so are you twins" - they look nothing alike!

Wouldn't be so bad if he wasn't a twin himself!!!

They both tease me about it even now, and it happened about 8 years ago :o
