Payment services regulations is just a new name for Banking code.

    Utter rubbish.
The banking code was purely voluntary whereas the PSR's are statute law and must be followed by all the relevant institutions and the 2 things are totally different.

I genuinely am confused. I have searched the Visa website, as well as the PSR, and cannot find for the life of me where it states that it is a criminal offence to use my partners card.

Please tell me.. I really do not want a criminal record and lose my job. ;)

I go off what i and all retailers are bound by and that is the agreements set out by Card companies. The card compoanies class these as fraud in order to allow retailers to LEGALLY withhold cards on behalf of the card companies.

It is clear you are not retailers and have no idea what retailers are LEGALLY bound by and what card companies can do and will do.
  • Nobody has or is disputing that you are required to abide by the requirements of the PSa. What is in dispute and what you still refuse to provide any proof of is this comment of yours
If you are using another person card then it is a criminal offence under the banking code

If it is a criminal offence, it must be covered by UK statute and you should easily be able to shows this, so why will you not do so?

But this is under contract law.. it is their obligations under the terms of the contract.

Visa and Mastercard cannot create laws.

Save your breath (or fingers.). The OP is horribly misinformed and even an avalanche of replies stating that wont change their stance.

Look up the eBay electric shock dog collar thread by the OP for extra entertainment.

    earthstorm isn't the OP.

I must admit the shock collar thread is a classic.

earthstorm has a very vague grasp of consumer law. Worse still his posting history shows that he's rude to just about everybody, can't stand being contradicted and accuses people of being trolls who can't read. I foresee an imminent PPR.

Apologies, when I said "OP", I meant earthstorm. The rest of it still stands.

The weight of opinions during a disucssion on these boards mostly show what is the right advice..

earthstorm being the only one who is continuing to push their agenda and that they are right and everyone else stating with relevant data and web pages stating such data leads me to believe that earthstorm does not have much of a clue.

Therefore OP - go with what everyone else has been saying and strike earthstorm from your mind.

Also do the dressy up thing that someone else mentioned next time.
