Visa/Mastercard can class it how they like.
Fraud is a criminal offence.
The only thing that Visa/Mastercard could say is that agreement/contracts have been broken.
That's all.0 -

I'll just leave this here so everyone can see how ridiculous it is.One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

stores have to protect themselves and have LEGAL agreements they have to adhere too, you would be upset if you visited the store and found you no longer could pay by card as they have had their services revoked for breaking agreements and marked as a fraudulent retailer by major card providers.
This does happen0 -
I think that the ridiculous comment referred to thisI go into a store with a CC in your name to return some goods and say i am your brother, so they refund money onto the card, this goes into my bank account, but the details their system has is your name.
If the credit card was in my name, why would the refund then go into your bank account?the store does not know if the OP is the husband of their customer or the card is the same card used for the transaction
The receipt should show the last 4 digits of the number but even if it didn't, they can simply look up the original transaction and get the payment card details that way.0 -

cloned with your name but with the strip details and card number linking to the fraudster bank account.
it is clear none of you are retailers with cc retailer agreements and think just because you say you are related to the card holder the store should just accept that.
stores have a lot more to lose than you if it turns out to be fraud, so they just follow what they have too as per their agreements with the cc companies.0 -

Please correct me if I am wrong.earthstorm wrote: »stores have a lot more to lose than you if it turns out to be fraud, so they just follow what they have too as per their agreements with the cc companies.
Good to see that you have revised your stance to "if it turns out to be fraud", rather different from your earlier statement:earthstorm wrote: »As a retailer with CC agreements in place then yes it is fraud as someone unauthorised by the bank is using another persons card.0 -
The fact is that there are no rights, as its not your card.
The fact that this has even been disputed is absolutely idiotic.0 -
Why not just return in a ladies wig and a bra padded out with socks under a skimpy dress, and see if you can pass yourself off as your wife??
I was in a small shop the other day where a husband returned a pair of shoes using his wife's card, and typed in her pin number. No questions were asked...Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0
