OP, you don't seem to be be able to hear beyond the first letter of the word, even if that were an 'F' (which it isn't) the second letter is very cleary an 'O', so if you're still insisting it's an 'F' the worst he's said is focking, which makes no sense, and isn't a swear word at all.

No, it's a lot easier to go to iplayer rather than rely on some wav file of unknown provenance.

I wish I were clever enough to 'fiddle' the sample but this is not Mission Impossible! I just set iplayer to play and sound recorder to record,

    From Ofcom's reply...
"Thank you for contacting Ofcom. Your views are important to us as they help to ensure broadcasters follow the rules set out in our codes. These codes set standards for all programmes on TV and radio.

Ofcom assesses each complaint it receives to decide whether it raises a potential issue under its codes.

Ofcom will not normally write back to you with the outcome of its considerations."

I love Topgear, many people don't but I do and so does my young son who is car mad and enjoys the crazy antics (even if quite faked).

From my opening post, just a reminder to all the 'thread cruisers' that I am PRO TOPGEAR, given a day off I would happily park myself in front of Dave channel all day watching reruns....

My whole point is I think they crossed the line. Disagree with me by all means but don't look for a deeper agenda as there isn't one.

As to the subtitles.. does anyone think they would type the 'F' word on a pre-watershed program irrespective of what was said? that would be asking for trouble.

Why didn't you record the whole word? That could have been a random 'F' from anywhere throughout the whole program and proves zilch.

    My whole point -

Have you complained directly to the BBC yet?

Because what you HAVE done is complain to to OfCom who may not well respond and vent on here. Neither of which appear likely to get you anywhere.

But that still doesn't answer the question of why you wasted your time with the wav file when the programme is on iplayer.

Yes quite. So you've emailed Ofcom who conveniently "will not normally write back to you with the outcome of its considerations" as opposed to the BBC itself.
