I love Topgear, many people don't but I do and so does my young son who is car mad and enjoys the crazy antics (even if quite faked).

But in the season end episode on Sunday I think the language crossed the line. I don't mind the usual (text removed by MSE Forum Team) here and there but in this episode 24 mins in whilst driving the bus James May is clearly heard to exclaim (text removed by MSE Forum Team) Nora!" at 8.24pm on a flagship entertainment program without warning is not acceptable to me.

I am really disappointed that they should feel it necessary to sink this low, it could have so easily been left out and like most bad language to be honest serves no purpose in what largely was an epic episode.

If it annoyed anyone else the complaint form is here..

Got to say DH and I weren't sure quite whether he'd said that or (text removed by MSE Forum Team) Nora. We were shocked it got by the production team.

I don't know. Judging by that big silly grin on her face ...
There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.
  • how olds your son, because by now he's probbably heard worse than that in real life, people swear worse than that everyday in every walk of life, yes i agree it may have been wrong to air it on tv, but i personally didn't find a problem with it

Yes I know he has heard worse, but the point is I have bought him up to understand that people that swear a lot are not very intelligent or educated with a limited vocabulary and there is no need to swear in normal life.

He looks up to the Top Gear crew as being cool so if they do it for what was a very minor situation (brushing a few branches with the bus) then that sends out the opposite message.

I've listen back to the recording several times to be sure, he clearly says "(text removed by MSE Forum Team) NORA".

Presumably you didn't mind the "(text removed by MSE Forum Team)" he said previous to that then, since you haven't mentioned it...

I'd say that's very presumptuous and generalizing. There's probably more truth in a statement of saying the sort of people that report TV to Ofcom etc are over sensitive!

Particularly when they've reported something that never happened...

You need to upgrade your TV, I believe I heard it correctly.
