Morning all
Pleased to say DS2 is so much better, thank you for all those healing vibes. He has stripped his bed, had a shower and all PJs in the wash plus I've binned his toothbrush and replaced.
Narco - TY for your post, that is so me with holidays (we are not flying) it's been exasperated by the fact DS1 will have just flown home but doesn't want to come with us and DS3 being mardy about missing cricket whilst we are away but DH so needs a change of scene and a rest. We must defo meet up in the Autumn
Knickers, mine get dried in the airing upboard but bras drip dry on the line.
I have much more get up and go today so am aiming on finishing off all those little annoying jobs. So much to get done next week.
I need to bake DH a birthday cake and we will have the inaugural BBQ tonightThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

OH said, completely unprompted, 'I really appreciate everything you're doing round the house, it looks amazing'. :T. Glad to see it is all being noticed.
I went through a shelf of books I had listed on Ama$0n - they were in DS's room. Got rid of over 20, and now he has space for his toys on the shelf instead. He loves walking over and pulling things off, then putting them back on.
I also had a little declutter in the garden, and threw out some broken china, broken glass jar, and various dirty things that had mysteriously appeared there (monkey teddy anyone?!).
Yesterday I cleaned down the front of the fridge, dishwasher and oven in the kitchen too. Babysteps!Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Firstly congratulations Pigpen.
I haven't done as well as I have wanted this week, wednesday turned into manic nesting of daughters room to make space. A broken glass of coke turned into gloss on the carpet  and grinding to a halt. I have now tipped out the under stairs cupboard looking for white spirit and have created chaos again. So will see what gets done today. Hope this isn't true nesting as the house is less than suitable now.

I'm still having trouble posting., I wonder if taking out smilies will work..
Afternoon all
Not done anything yet today except make breakfast and play games on Faceb00k. Had a lovely lie in until 11am though which was much needed after still being awake at 3am.
Plan for the rest of today is to get the dailies done, DD to make her bed & have a bath, I'm going to finish the 'mending' pile, do some labelling of uniform, and have a fridge clear out making random stuff for us to have for tea tonight as a lot of the veg is starting to turn.
I've brought my knitting bag down so I can make a start on some little Xmas projects I want to make while I watch TV this evening. Hoping it will keep my hands busy and stop me snacking.
Dailies:
Wash up
Beds
S&S Bathroom
S&S Kitchen
HHTidy before bed
Project MTWTFSS
Work:
Decide on how many books to order for next campaign
Tax return
Shredding
Mon - Deliver orders still outstanding.
Other:
Ironing
Mending pile / labels
Mop kitchen floor
Change DD's bed
Off to wash up, and chase DD for a bath I think. Then she can spend the rest of the day reading to her hearts content (she's re-reading the Harry Potter series. She's nearly finished book 3 and she only started again on Friday night). Actually I think I might have an hours reading myself when I've done some jobs. I haven't read anything not computer based for a while....
ETA: Yep, taking out smilies appears to have worked!
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
Apologies for not getting online yesterday, folks - we went and picked 5 lb of blackcurrants, then jammed them, and that was all my spoons well and truly gone.
I've seen one or two people mention smilies causing a problem with posts, so won't use any for now.
I see we have a wee Pink Piglette - congratulations Piggers. But, I have now set up two washing lines (at right-angles to each other to optimise the direction of the breeze.
One is also counter-tied with a guy rope to the picnic table to stop its prop falling down when the wind comes, contrarily, from the NE or E direction (which it did a lot this last Spring!)
Consequently, I have now started to partition the washing....
Tea-towels have to go just ~there~ (on the line that goes east-west). DS's boxers and socks get pegged out to the easterly end of the east-west line under the shade of the maple tree.
Towels and sheets go on the north-south line but in the most optimum wind gathering position and my knickers go to the north of the north-south line where few people can see them because they are shielded from view by buildings and walls etc.!
Everything else finds its place in between those fixed points!
Sad? I'm sadder than the saddest thing in the universe!
Clothes-line-wise, I have a four-sided whirligig; but underwear and small items get put on one of those square smalls-dryer jobbies from L@keland which is then hung from one corner of the whirligig. It saves a fair bit of space, and makes hoiking the lot in if it starts raining a whole lot quicker. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Good afternoon
thanks Nicki - I will try posting without smilies (or grrrs!)
I have removed the carpet from the kitchen, swept & mopped half of it (it's a long kitchen). The carpet is down because the dog gets a phobia of walking on the laminate flooring from time-to-time, but it looks better and is more hygienic without. I will see how he gets on.
Apart from that, I have popped to @ldis for a few bits, and have been dipping in and out of my Self Evaluation Form *insert exasperated 'grrr'* DH has done some washing, cut the grass, applied for yet more jobs & photographed his guitars for me to put them on ebay (better do that next). DD2 is tidying her room!! DD1 is asleep on the sofa. I am not sure if I have managed to post that she has split up with her BF of 2 years. I don't think she slept much last night. She tearfully told me earlier that she feels 'broken' *insert very sad face* DS is doing nothing - as usual!!
Chicken is in the oven, veggies are prepped. I am going to do the other half of the floor & put everything back, then get on ebay. I also need to walk the dog & pick some blackberries, and make a crumble with apples I got from Mum's garden yesterday.
Ok - hopefully this will post! I thought I had upset someone or broken some rules last night!! I kept getting a scary looking message!
ETA: Yay!!0 -
Cake done and appreciated.
Three loads of washing done, quite breezey and warm here. Last load of the day to go on next and then another HHG before I start thinking of dinner.
Ironing scheduled for tonight with the new Dragons DenThe birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
