Congratulations Piggers, she's adorable. And can't wait to hear what you call her, but in the meantime what's her nickname? I'm sure it's something cute as the others were/are :D

 Welcome to the world, beautiful little girl.
 Pigpen and OH, many congratulations to you both!

We babysat our two DGDs all day on Friday, and my DS2 and his wife brought DGS3 here for lunch today - and we're babysitting him on Wednesday. Since we moved house, I've seen more of these grandchildren than in all the time since they were born :) so I'm not feeling at all jealous or broody well, only a tiny bit!

In honour of DGS3, I cleared the dining room and emptied boxes of kitchen stuff into the new cupboards today :D

Must go and unblock the Dys0n before I forget... It appears to be constipated with plaster dust!

I still can't get over your peg fetish Valli but can, possibly, comprehend.

I'll explain - all my pegs are wooden (ergo biodegradable) in various shades of brown depending on their age. They get selected at random to peg stuff up.

But, I have now set up two washing lines (at right-angles to each other to optimise the direction of the breeze.

One is also counter-tied with a guy rope to the picnic table to stop its prop falling down when the wind comes, contrarily, from the NE or E direction (which it did a lot this last Spring!)

Consequently, I have now started to partition the washing....

Tea-towels have to go just ~there~ (on the line that goes east-west). DS's boxers and socks get pegged out to the easterly end of the east-west line under the shade of the maple tree.

Towels and sheets go on the north-south line but in the most optimum wind gathering position and my knickers go to the north of the north-south line where few people can see them because they are shielded from view by buildings and walls etc.!

Everything else finds its place in between those fixed points!

Sad? I'm sadder than the saddest thing in the universe!

I do too - I have a single line washing line so put my undercrackers on the part of the line nearest the house.

Ah, soappie, I think I love you, my separated-at-birth laundry sister! My garden is also a N-E-S-W duty of love when it comes to pegging out. Factor in the various heights of the trees that surround it and then don't even get me started on the various shades of white - beige - pale blue - dark blue - purple - dark red - lighter red - pink - purple and then navy, grey and black. Inside, the house is utter chaos, but the washing lines are an OCD cocktail of love!
