Hi All :hello:
Just a quick post, as some of you will have saw on my FB we are fighting fleas in the house, DS & I covered in horrible itchy itchy bites although cat is clear (she only comes in, eats & goes straight back out again). I have ordered both the things you recommended piggers.
Good thing about this is that mount ironmore is almost done & house has been sprayed/hoovered to within an inch of its life, going to do all the rooms tonight again although the spray we have is pure pants!!!
DH is so far enjoying his new job & has been working here this week so thats a wee bonus.
Only item I have still to buy for school uniforms are DS shoes & DD bag, so almost all set for them going back next Friday :T.
My nephew is being christened on Sunday, I am doing the buffet so my kitchen will probably be a nightmare come Sunday . Sorry not been on but I have adjusted my hours at work now so don't get as much of a chance to skive :rotfl::TGratitude is the best Attitude :T

hope you get rid of the intruders soon macpep and hopeDH continues to enjoy his new job and that the christening goes well.
DH fed and returned to work, DS2 and me have also eaten, had to smile DH noticed a small patch of dead grass at the edge of the lawn and asked what id moved (overgrown wallflowers that were creeping off the border onto the lawn. but he still hasnt noticed the jasmine is missing LOL it was about 5 foot high and stuck out onto the patio area right infront of the back door i thought it was really noticable!
He also said last night mum said had you been round while she was out, she hadnt noticed the gardening but one of the neighbours had given me some beans for her so i'd put them in the fridge. it must run in their family.
off to ave another look at the list and see what im supposed to be doing.SPC~12 ot 124

Bonnie - how old is your DS? Mine don't have a choice about helping with heavy stuff, DS2 (17) has just come to W1ckes with me to buy 7 bags of gravel and will shortly be moving them into the garden and spreading theM. I have to do things I don't always want to, everybody does, it's life. I simply asked what time was most convenient for him today and we went.
Macpep - good luck with the fleas, we stayed in a house once with them and the bites were awful
Just going to get the wshing in, make a cuppa then supervise operation spread the gravel. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Dusty al good wishes for your friend; hope it all goes well for her.bonnie_bumpkins wrote: »Still trying to kick myself up the backside

Can I borrow him please?
My DS is 19. He moved into uni accommodation last October and has just started a house-share for next term so he's back in London again. So he doesn't technically live here and when he does it upsets the peace that DD & I share - mainly because we've settled into a nice routine without him. He does his own cooking and clearing up when he's here. He does his own laundry too, here or in London.
I can't think of any leverage I have other than to ban him from coming home, which seems petty. But I'm prepared to be petty if that's what it takes. Or am I unreasonable expecting him to help out in what he considers is not his garden??? When talking to him about the issues he promises to help out and then.... doesn't.
I'm usually good at disciplining but the 'not really living here' thing has thrown me. Any comments / advice / tales of similar experiences greatly received
Cushion covers in the WM

sending spoons to LW and hugs to Bonnie
i've just found a pair of dirty wellingtons so have scrubbed the mud off them - they are being decluttered to eldest DD soon so couldnt send them muddy. stinky guinea pigs are in the process of being clean out, given the cage a good scrub and giving it 1/2 hour in the sunshine before replacing the sawdust. (guineas are safely in another box)
shredding has been done.
small pile of stuff to give to DD3 when shes round later is about the only thing on the table.
while putting stuff away in cupboard i found 3 things that need posting (thought i'd sent one a few weeks ago OPPPS! huge embarrassed apologies to the person that was for, luckily it was meant to to a surprise so they werent expecting it. need to locate a couple more jiffys now to package the others up. (Knitted bits that need to go off to various good causes)
found a cross stitch that needs washing pressing and bits stitching to it and framing ready for a birthday in 2 weeks time!!! need to find where i can buy a thick mount and get that done.
going to get the iron out do the few bits ive got and press the picture.
HHC at 3.30 anyone?SPC~12 ot 124

Healing vibes, spoons and a gently hug for Lamewolf.
If I had this amount of energy normally, I think I could conquer the world. I've worked out how to get my super-dooper WM to do a 30 minute wash at the right temperature and a fast spin, by using non-standard settings. (It's taken me a few months.) The result is that I'm on about load number 10 today, and as soon as I run out of line space, the driest big bits get chucked into the TD. I've got at least another six loads to go and then our bedding, but I am determined to clear the washing asap.
I've been going through the boxes of kitcheny film gibble and working out how much of the leftover unopened food can go to the foodbank. I thought I was going to send the Sainsbobs Basic$ wetwipes as well but OH saw the Use By date was December 2014, so they've got to go into the atttic along with all the first aid kit etc etc for next year's film. I might just sneak a few things out while he's 'recovering' from his over-tiredness. I keep finding him snoozing on the floor in the sitting room, on the sundeck, on the loo ....Better is good enough.0 -
Carpets are vacuumed and cleaned. That had to be the most boring job ever, like the world's most painful slow-mo hoovering session. I am not even convinced the carpets are any cleaner -- although there seemed to be lots of grot in the water, to be fair -- but I'll reserve judgement until they're dry, which may be a while. An evening of soggy socks awaits I suspect.
SD and SS are here this evening. I am off to stick a polite note on the door saying if they take one step inside with their shoes on, I will commit a double murder. I'm already getting cross at the fact they'll ignore it :mad:0
