Wow shoes 2013 what a fantastic achievement. How long did it take you and what kept you focused?
Thanks Helen, have got myself an odd thing but was just feeling sorry for myself this afternoon. Daft when it's only stuff!!
Given myself a good shake and I'm fine now xxSave £12k in 2014 #080 £0/£8,000.

I'm sorry you've been feeling low, it does get to us all which is why I try to stay so positive about just the little things.
My dad said to me the other day it's about time I got myself a new car... yes, I completely agree but the money tree in the garden didn't flower this year! He doesn't know the extent of what is owed so I just shrugged it off.
Sometimes you just have to have a little word with yourself and remember why you started this journey
Onwards and upwards to debt freedom!!!
Much love
LMD x
Ps I had the most ridiculously rubbish afternoon at work, could quite easily have handed in my keys! But no... Bills to be paid

Had those words to myself this afternoon.
Yes I could buy what I want with someone else's money but I'm sure it will feel a lot better when it's my own.

Had lots of words with myself again but still feeling a bit flat today.
The green eyed monster is out still and I want shiny new toys with out the debt and realistically know its not going to happen.
Thankfully the realist sensible Andrea has won out today and I have not given into temptation.
I also know that the buzz of buying something would be totally tinged by the guilt of buying it so what's the point. So my shiny new thing will wait until I'm debt free and can pay for it with my own money.Save £12k in 2014 #080 £0/£8,000.

Well feeling brighter today, thank fully.
Had a talk to my self again and a bit of a moan to friend who said maybe I shouldn't put myself under pressure and just pay off what I can afford and spend the rest.
Made me realise I do have a choice, I can go the scenic route. That scenic route however in the past hasn't been that picturesque. It left me further in debt, stressed over whether I could pay my bills,my mind in a state of chaos and sleepless nights.
So as I've already tried the scenic, the other option is the direct route. So far that has resulted in no end of spreadsheets, plans and ideas. It's made me more creative ( making money go further), less wasteful and more charitable. I have slept well and feel in control.
So really no competition, the short term desire for 'stuff' isn't worth the pay off.
So for now spreadsheets, snowballing, PADing ( thank you LMD ) and my addiction to mse is my choice. No more grumbling about wanting shiny things as peace of mind is far more valuable.
Tesco delivery this morning so a chicken in the oven for tea, tomorrow and Tuesdays lunches will be chicken salad. Probably a savoury rice tomorrow night and if I haven't grown wings and started clucking by Tuesday evening I shall prob do a chicken pasta type of dish. Shall portion it up this evening and freeze any left over chicken. I might even make some stock with the bones.

Brilliant post EWO and it only took you a few sleeps (things are always better when you sleep on them) to figure out how to shift your viewpoint - and you did it on your own terms and with the full understanding of what you need.....which only you can do.Big hugs and positive vibes for the future. One day you might find yourself trying to help your friends when their LBM hits them like a steam engine! X

Well done stay focused on what you want. It gets easier like I said almost second nature even. Shiny things are well and good but living within your means will make the future, the most important years when we may not be able to do so much ,better.0

Well today has been an easy nsd - strange how some days are easier than others. Long may it last.
Tonight is meal three of the chicken, going to be a chicken noodle dish I think.
Have enjoyed my first easy journey home this eve, prior to moving office it was the best part of two hours on public transport. 45 minutes tonight - yippee!
It was a pleasure getting home and one of life's pleasures that cost nothing. Time is more precious than money.
Wishing you all a good evening xxSave £12k in 2014 #080 £0/£8,000.
