On one positive, the debt dipped under £12k this month! WHOOOOP!

I can't wait for the figure to be four figures, rather than five!

I bet that does indeed feel good and you have come so very far from your LBM. You will get to the end of the road just keep pushing forward. All the very best of luck to you.

  • Yet again, time has flown by - I can't believe it's nearly three months since I've been in here!

    So where am I?

Inching ever closer to January and those free childcare hours, though tax credits are claiming I've not declared some £13k of income the past year, which is just crazy. I wrote back to them a few weeks ago and await their response.

Loan repayments continue, slowly but surely.

Come 2014, I have got to get a real handle on our outgoings and incomings. We currently have the house on the market for a variety of reasons, not 100% we will move, but if we do it'll mean getting rid of one car and reducing fuel costs massively. The money it would cost us to move, we need to spend on this house anyway so it's kind of no difference.. but it's scary to think about that money being spent on moving.

Plan to do as many surveys as possible next year to help out and shift the last of the clutter and unnecessary stuff in our house.

Whatever 2014 brings, I'm looking forward to the challenge.

Promise to be a more regular poster now to keep me on track.

    Thanks for reading!

  • 50p savings pot started when I had three of those the other day, I also save 5p in another. 10p and 20p go in the kids money boxes when they have been helpful or good.

Really making an effort with surveys last few days and picked up £4 the other day.. every little helps.

Really relieved everything is done practically for Xmas - did the food shop online last night, just hope that all arrives. I have three bars of chocolate left to buy and that's it - I really am done done done!

Still awaiting a response from tax credits - anyone any experience how long they take to respond in situations like this - I'm certainly not mindful to chase.

  • Wow you have done so well over the last few years, killing off this last 12k should be childs play for you.

Will be subscribing to your diary to help you along. I too have a habit of disappearing for a few months at a time, guess it does'nt matter as long as we are not spending ;).

Glad you have finished your shopping, I just have to tackle the shops Monday for some goodies to eat over Christmas and then I am all done too.

    xxxx
  • Hi Steph - thanks for popping in.. I'm determined this time to be a more regular poster as I'm losing focus a bit by not posting.

Will find you diary and subscribe as well - hope the shops aren't too busy tomorrow. Merry Christmas!

  • Few unforeseen spends yesterday as one of the kids has come down with chickenpox, watching the other as I can't believe they will escape, so had to buy a few lotions and potions to ease the itching. Looks like I'm housebound for a while now....must not shop online, must not shop online.

Another 50p in the pot yesterday after a day collecting a bargain we won on ebay for little one for Christmas and we stopped at a garden centre we hadn't been to before for the little ones to see the lights and trees etc.

Have a lovely Sunday all x

  • Hope all had a nice Christmas.. we had a poorly child being sick for the most of the day, so it was not the usual Christmas Day here. I've stayed away from shopping online, but do need to buy some waterproof fitted sheets for the kids beds as I'm down to three now and a bout of sickness makes you realise you need more!

Also need to surf Ebay for some jeans for me. Do not want to spend a lot as hoping come New Year and weight loss, I won't be in them for long at all.

We were very lucky with gifts and pennies given to us by friends and family, so have squirrelled some away towards this and that.

Aside from that, enjoying lots of family time and not having to go anywhere, do anything specific.
