Ah well, maybe one day I'll buy a wig!
I had hair a little like that, before I discovered GHDs:D0 -
I can't straighten my hair to save my life! It's depressing. If a hairdresser does it it will stay until I wash it.If I do it it takes forever and starts to frizz and kink
You'll have to excuse the drunk photo,it's 10 years old (students +New years eve=a mess!) but heres one version of my hair tamed down (avi is a gel induced variation more like the pic person one shown)If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
I think the difference as that older ladies always wore their hair up whereas now it's often worn loose. In fact, IIRC (from history that is;)), putting your hair up was a sort of 'coming of age' thing for women.
I do think long hair can age some women as hair can go very thin. What I particularly don't like is the opposite end of the spectrum, women that have a sort of 'short back and sides'. It may be wash'n'go but I think it looks very masculine.
I have one of those haircuts you dislike so much.
Not out of choice, I might add. After losing my hair to a mixture of anaemia and what I now know is alopecia it wont grow back to the length it was. I hate it so much I cover it with a wig or headscarf when I'm out - I only have half a head of hair at the moment and I wear a hairband made from a cut-down headscarf for work.
I have three long wigs that I absolutely love - only problem is I always get Id'd when I'm wearing them if I'm in a bar or whatever*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -

You need ghds, bulldog clips, scrunchies & patience.do it in sections, gather "done" sections in loose ponytail with scrunchie. Work from the bottom up, piling "not done" hair on top of head.
It will only last until it gets wet or sweaty.
I can do mine in just under 20 mins now, it used to take double that when I wasnt practiced.0 -
Why would anyone want to straighten their hair and look like everyone else when they are lucky enough to have lovely bouncy shiny natural curls like those? Beats me. lol Your hair's gorgeous Shegirl!0

I think so too, both the women with curls look lovely, so happy, lovely photos.
I love mine...mines a bit curlier still, and like shegirl, I would never try to straighten at home, though my hair dressers straighteners astound me I just don't have the desire to change my curls....they are part of 'me'.( though its nice to look different I only feel like me curly)0 -

I was thinking the same thing. I'm rather partial to the "dragged through a hedge backwards look", as my wife will testify.0 -

I do agree. It must take a long time and all that heat isn't good for your hair either.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

It takes time to embrace curls lol
Seriously though, like many curly girls,it can be a tad 'depressing' When you fancy a new look but can't have one. With straight hair you can have all kinds of cuts and style and look completely different. We generally can't- it can go shorter or longer and have a few layers. So can get a bit boring.
Like lostinrates though,I only feel fully me with my curls, they're just a pain and wind and rain leaves you looking like Diana Ross:rotfl:
Related to the topic, natural curls are something a lot of women b!tech and laugh about too.Hair is meant to be straight don't you know!If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

That's depressing. If they want to look like clones with "perfect" artficially straight hair that might just look like straw in a few years, up to them. It doesn't mean everyone should conform! Embrace your curls ladies!
