I have mid length hair, people always ask me why i dont have it longer . The reason is it just doesn't suit me long, plus it always gets in a crappy condition, and takes more hair dye when its longer.
I'm also blessed with naturally straight hair though i think curls look goodand if i had curly hair dont think id straighten it.

In my experience it means: dress in what other people want or think you should wear, NOT what you feel comfortable in!0

Yeah, they 'prevent' that while in use.A cold blast seals the cuticles too.
That amount of heat on your hair is not good for it and will damage itIf women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -

My mother has been on at me to 'Cut your hair darling, you can't wear it long now you've hit 40'.
No way - it's nearly waist length, and there it will stay.
I sometimes wear clothes from my silly punk/goth days too.
But there are a few items of clothing that no woman of any age should wear.
See-through leggings
Strappy, tight '6 boob' tops
Thongs visible over trouser waistbands
Onesies"I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0 -
It funny how visible thongs are almost universally derided yet visible bra straps are not.0

I've stopped using them for this very reason, my hair is in much better condition since, no snapping off much anymore.0 -

My new hairdresser likes to use them , but I just wouldn't buy any. I don't think his once every couple of months fiddling with my hair will cause much damage but I just cannot imagine it every day. For a start.....I couldn't be bothered with the time to take my mop to sleek when, IMO, it looks just fine curly...:o.0
