What is actually wrong with being old anyway? It happens to most of us. It is a sad society that venerates youth.

Actually it can be quite efficient in certain circumstances where snap decisions are required for personal safety.

Uniform in the armed services is used to differentiate friend from foe.

Tattoos are used in certain tribes; again to identify kinsmen.... or chapters in certain gangs.

Even in our national sport we look at the colours the fans are wearing.

Humans are tribal in nature and will always use sight as one way to aide self preservation.

How have we gone from beige cardigans to survival situations? :rotfl:

Simple really - it's about people judging by what they see.... which is actually part of our survival instinct.

You see someone in a beige cardi and they are likely to look less threatening than someone in a gangsta uniform ;).

Unless you're going for something unusual, it's neither expensive nor difficult to colour your hair at home.

I save myself a fortune now by doing it myself at home.....John Frieda Precision Foam is such a good invention!

I've always, always loved the "cute ditsy dress with biker boots" look.

I used to rock that look until the squadron sergeant major met me on my way back into camp one night.

Why, did he borrow the dress and never gave it back? :p

Colouring my hair at home would be fine if it didnt turn out orange. I have dark blonde hair and I was very fair haired until I was in my mid teens but the one and only time I tried to lighten my hair at home it went orange and it took a year and two lots of highlights to make it look ok again.

I think its easier to go darker than blonde at home although some fair haired people will manage to find a home dye that suits them but its just not for me

I live in the back of beyond anyway and I cant get highlights and lowlights and a cut and blow dry for less than £35
