Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -
PasturesNew wrote: »I used to love creme brulee. Never had "a proper one", but when I was growing up we had the Green's packets. Mum'd usually make it in a blue/white stripey pudding dish, but sometimes individual ones in teacups.
Not had one of those for about 30+ years!
Until recently, mum would always have a 4-6 pack of creme caramels from the supermarkets in the fridge.
I love Creme Caramels and Creme Brulee. The Bonne Maman ones have been on special recently so worth looking out for. They are expensive, but if you can get two for one they work out only slightly more than a shop one but are way nicer. Great for an occasional treat and taste close to home made. On the inside of the card wrapper are the recipes so that you can make them yourself afterwards (though of course they are also easy to look up). Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? How's Big Dog this morning? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0

Today I am cooking a small venison haunch joint. Not done it for ages feeling rather lazy and do not want a recipe that involves pfaffing around.
All suggestions welcome.
Oh and yesterday we impulse bought a dining table..the one we mulled over for a few months is no longer available ...we think that means not made any more. So we bought one in John Lewis ..with a sideboard.
We have never bought furniture in John lewis before. Matresses, household goods and curtain material....
We have to get rid of a pedastal desk to fit the sideboard in, but we [STRIKE]think[/STRIKE] thought it would give better utility. Things are going to look lighter and modern chez Spirit.
I've never bought anything in a John Lewis...in fact, I have never been in one either! We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

When I used to live only a few miles from Bristol, John Lewis used to be our first port of call on shopping trips to Cribbs Causeway. Park at the John Lewis end, all the way along the top level looking any shops relevant to the things we were looking for, back along the lower level and home.
Off to church now. Expect this thread will be full by the time I get back. See you on the new thread, everybody! :hello:Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Just looked those up and they're "4 for £2.50"!
That's why it's worth waiting until they are 2 for 1. An extra 25-50p is nothing compared to how lovely they taste. They are much thicker and the caramel is much gloopier. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? When any of the boys are hungry, they say "I hungy" after middle son's first attempt at saying it when he was little.
"Got no boobies on" means to go without a bra (it's a mum saying)
"Jarfa" is a giraffe toy (middle son saying again)
"Bo" or "Boderlee" is youngest son's nickname
"Boshy" is middle son's nickname
When mum says scrambled egg, it actually means an omelette...an omelette is an omelette! We call scrambled egg (to get rid of the confusion for the boys) a fluffy egg.We made it! I've been in a JL as there was one in Cambridge.... but it was a posh shop so I'd only go in to walk through it and get a bit warm
There's a JL in Exeter now. And you've got one round the corner, in Poole. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
I have been on the JL site though, just not been in an actual store. We have a big JL store opened up about 8 miles away, keep meaning to go in there but not actually done it yet.We made it! How's Big Dog this morning?
Oh GDb you are so thoughtful.
She had a bad night. She paced up and Down a lot and I decided to let her sleep in the cheese room. She has obviously got on and off the sofa a lot, lots of disruption
N on the sofa) and her bed looks "rumpled' too, but when ever we checked she was pacing.
This morning we put her ion with the others so I could clean the floor and.......
She lay down immediately and went to sleep :rotfl:
Classic anthropomorphic ownership gone wrong. Actually my concern was for the other two, big dog attacks dog dog sometimes when she hurts......it must be dog dogs fault.
Now she is deep, deep deep asleep, so I'm happy that she will be ok on the pain killers I have until tomorrow. I actually don't think this episode is as bad as the last one, (she ate a hearty breakfast,..she went off her food last time, which is a big deal for big dog....she'd refused to leave a dining table were she on a sinking ship)0
