It's only a matter of time until I meet someone with a child called Chlamydia.
Why can't people stick with proper names like Generali?0 -
This morning I have been doing an amazing aromatherapy session. Its mildly cardiovascular and involves gentle stretching. The scents have been orange oil and beeswax.
Oh yes, housework, through the silver lined eyes of a delusional housework. Sitting room smell good though. I didn't clean the windows, which I'll regret later, but didn't fancy vinegar in my aromatherapy mix this morning.0 -
Shortly after we named DD2 a discussion on mumsnet got wide media attention including the claim by teachers that any hyphenated names were a sure fire way of spotting a troublesome chav
Is this first, or last?
If last, it's becoming more common with Georgians in UK, as traditionally the surname isn't taken on marriage, by the wife. I believe it's similar to Italy and Spain in this.lostinrates wrote: »Electricity people are coming today.....

It occasionally works, and very well if the company is definitely wrong.
UK Power Networks have been useless for us over the last few months.vivatifosi wrote: »:rotfl:

Twiglets - yuck!
(pretzels are also yuck btw...)No one has ever sent me a rude picture
I saw a funny picture the other day that I nearly posted here, because it could be seen to be rude/offensive. In the end I decided it wasn't right for some NP, so elected not to. But I have been wondering.
It was very funny though..:Dneverdespairgirl wrote: »OH and I have just been discussing potential names for the baby. There's a big restriction in that it must make sense in both England and in Israel. That rules out some names I like, such as Charlotte.
We also can't go for names which sound as if they end or might end with much of a vowel, because of the surname.
But the biggest problem is OH - he doesn't seem to like any names. He said "No!" emphatically to almost all of them, and "maybe" with a very dubious look to a few. I asked him to think of just one name of each gender that he actually liked, and he struggled. Eventually he did decide he didn't actually hate Noah (whcih is out because of the sound at the end) and Naomi.
So poor little sod will probably be Baby NDG until it reaches adulthood!
Some examples - Jonathan (No!), Joseph (No!) David (too commonly-used) Nathan (teenage arsonist), etc.
Aaron? It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
