I think the nice people have excellent taste in names!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I like Keziah, but apart from the vowel ending, OH thinks it's incredibly chavvy. He might be right - I still like it, though!
Keziah's sisters were Jemima and Karen, from memory?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
There is a little girl in DD's class with that name. There are four (nearly five) siblings. Every one of them, including mum, has a name beginning with K.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

My own prejudices come into play - a lot of "K" names are headed for the Youth Court. Kevin, Konnor, Kayleigh, Kieran.........much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0

To the point that if I mentioned it here there would be so few people that a quick Google and you'd be able to work out his full name from it.
If things ever change and I have a baby please pm me this name0 -

A 'k' was in our name as a middle name, but its a very old, very rare family name. I wouldn't have given it as a firs name because ( weird) I don't like empathise with the letter k that much. But the name is a good and strong one.0 -

A lot of K names seem to be mis-spellings.
People ask me if DDs name is spelled with a K. I can't work out why they'd ask if it was spelled that way first, when the name is based on a very popular biblical character and the regular spelling is very obvious.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Oh no! What happened to set youngest off? And how are they messing middle son about now?
I am starting what I fear may turn into a battle with school too. DS's anxiety is getting worse. (Anxiety disorders are common in children who've had several major losses, but he's now really noticeably worse than he was even at the beginning of this term.) At least it is just school anxiety ATM, so he can enjoy life outside of school, so that's an improvement on a few years ago. But it is making him worse to have to study two languages when he's too dyslexic to cope properly with foreign languages at all. He won't be doing them for GCSE (he'd only fail them if he did) so I think he should give them up now, have a bit of literacy help (which he needs) and a bit of time to work on his homework (which would help with the workload anxiety), and stop having "I can't do this Spanish" themed panic attacks.
I'm not at all sure what kind of response I'm going to get to the email I sent this morning. It would be lovely if they said "We had no idea he was in such a state. Yes of course he should give up both languages if that's what they're doing to him. We will make arrangements for him to do something else during those bits of the timetable." But I'm not convinced that's what they'll say. We shall see.
What with DS's issues and my interest in education from the teacher's PoV, you can see why I always feel such a sense of concern and solidarity when you post about trying to get your boys' school to take their individual needs seriously!
What NDG said.
Same old story....no support for youngest in the classroom and his general hightened anxiety. I am now keeping a diary of what support he is receiving for the LEA, so far this week, he had a TA for half a lesson on Monday, one lesson yesterday and none today. He is supposed to have a minimum of 20 hours per week.
With middle son, he is struggling with a business studies overload (he is doing double business), he also cannot understand why he has to do four subjects when some of his peers are only doing 2 or 3. He is also suffering from lack of support, although his need is far less than youngest and a TA in lesson is not needed, it is more generalised support especially around his poor short term memory and verbal understanding disorder.
But - one of the biggest problems over the last few days has been the inclusion of someone who takes high jinks and turns it into a form of bullying, into the music class....and the high jinks appears to be directed towards middle son. The sort of thing going on is what made middle son lose all confidence in his music before (being ridiculed for his equipment, having his equipment tampered with/hidden, being told his opinion doesn't matter because he is 'only a drummer', the pee being taken out of him when he was singing/playing a different instrument - because he is 'only a drummer' etc).
It's a shame really, middle son was just starting to come out of his shell a bit and showing his ability on different instruments to the rest of the class and his teachers, now he doesn't really want to play because he knows that this lad with start messing about with the stuff to wind up.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

There were an awful lot more OH didn't like - Miriam, Matthew, Joshua, lots, and lots of them!
Don't think your hubby would like my boy's names then.........so far, two of them have been mentioned! We made it!
