Question - mainly for the nice ladies, but nice men feel free to contribute.

    Swarovski Crystal. Nice? Or tacky?
Would a nice (I think, but remember the gender...:o) small swarovski jewellry item make a good gift? It is a bit more expensive than I first thought, but I wanted to get a couple of people something extra nice this year after they've done good stuff for me. But I don't want to get them tacky stuff.

Planning/thinking necklaces. Silver. I know friends like crystal stuff, & I saw them in a shop & their reflective-ness/responsiveness to light really caught my attention (& is reflected in the gift choice if that makes sense?)
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

That sounds thoughtful and generous of you. Post pics of what you have in mind, and we'll comment.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.
    :)

OK I have got to stop posting on here today. I am making a statement that I am not coming back on here until my reports are finished (well, the ones that are due 9am tomorrow, anyway). If I do, then shoot me.

    What's the house like, PN?
Pretty bad..... car port - but quite a walk to the front door. Service charge (although small) for communal/frontage trimming and car port maintenance. It was really dark inside (even though they'd left all the lights on); conservatory was a thin/balsa wood extension. Kitchen was the size of a cupboard, ceiling had had a leak and they'd not redecorated the swirly artex so it was cracked/hanging.... Only a shower, no bath. All in all .... nope. Back garden I'd already put down as a potential security risk from the main road alongside it .... so it was loads of stuff wrong before I was even half interested.

Took a drive round, spotted one house I'd not seen on RM in my searches.... couldn't find it from my car, come home, it's £345k :) and it wasn't even "fab", it was "that's a house that looks a bit odd but doable, wonder how much" .... too much.

I don't mean to be rude..... and who am I to talk of taste or class.... but so far the images you've posted would, imho, be suitable for a teenager, not a middle aged woman :)

    You're not being rude matey!
I'd rather have an honest opinion.
I've never bought anyone jewellry before. There's obviously a reason for that!:)

(See the watch saga for further evidence...)

    GO AWAY;)

Btw, I took your advice and put in action earlier. I am faced with the results of this infront of me and am planning to pack it away tonight.

    I had another thought too......

I always give my honest opinion .... usually others are either horrified, or gang up against me ..... sometimes though, they're grateful as nobody else knew how to say it first :)
