Happy Birthday! A friend moans that her birthday (this week) means that people are always on holiday, so celebrating is limited. So now she has a second birthday mid September too!

I always wanted a summer birthday, especially in August, as you'd never have to go to school on your birthday and the weather's more likely to mean you can go out/do stuff - at least the days are long/light

My daughter was in Arthur Tattersall on Gower Street for her first year at UCL. Shared room was the big drawback, she had nothing in common with her room-mate. Price was considerably more than £32 per week, best part of £100 each for a shared room.

In September she starts her Masters degree, at UCL again, living in private accommodation this time.

My flatmate was there in 1997-8, so I suppose prices might have gone up since then? They've also probably got rid of the workhouse furniture (-:

I also went to UCL for undergrad and went back there for my master's degree.

  • It's good to have a good spread/range, all in the same area/direction. So annoying when you have to choose which direction ou're going in at the kerb as you're midway between two.

We live half-way between 2 supermarkets - Waitrose and Co-op. Fortunately, neither's more than a 5 min walk.
