The three days between Xmas and New Year does, the rest no. Because all of my customers will not think it worth opening for two days before Xmas and the two days after New Year, we slumber. I may pick up the odd job, but that's at best. Drivers get really bored and broke, come back grumbling and then it takes at least a week to get going again. Bah humbug!0

You need to get a wine merchant on your books; they work until late Xmas eve!I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. The dogs and I just went to buy kiwi food to see us through to the new year.
As usual the lovely girl at the pet she'd offered the dogs a biscuit (I usually don't let them take food from strangers, but allow it from some people including pet shed woman and vets and people I want them to like, like nice builders) but they take the biscuits and put them down on the floor and look at me, unsure. Well, kiwi and dog dog do. While they are looking and me big dog wolfs theirs sometimes.
Kiwi was allowed to choose a junk gift for them all (girls were back in the car) and he chose a bone stuff with goose flavoured carp and a toothbrush shaped treat. They've had those toothbrushes before and liked them. I'm not that fussed about getting the dogs a gift, they get a plate of' rich pickings' ( dog safe left overs in their food bowl) which is nice enough. They also get the dough the ham is cooked in....not healthy at all, but a rates household tradition. I suppose its like allowing kids an occasional bag of crisps or chocolate bar.....or as its home madeis it less bad, more like homemade cake?0 -
Ok, I'm still on tree decorations.....stars or angels on top?
I think angels are 'nicer' but stars are more aesthetic. Here we have a star....tis the perfect compromise between his ancestors and mine0 -

Star all the way for me. Star is perfect for you, that makes me smile.
I need to go and address the tree situation downstairs. We are away for two weeks this year. I bought a fake tree because I want the tree up early, down late and don't want to be confronted with a drift of needles when we return. But it looks sad as you can see through the skeleton of it. I bought 10 metres of tinsel yesterday (we usually have strings of pearls on a real tree) and charged DS with getting it onto the tree last night. It still doesn't look great.
I take the children every year to a local garden centre with a lovely Christmas display and we pick a new decoration each which slowly improves the quality each year. I replaced the gold plastic Woolworths star with a beautiful beaded one last year. A few pounds here and there is fun. afraid I'm a stickler for theme on the big tree, lots of glass, mainly clear glass, tarnished silver/soft gold and cream. The lights are a cold white, which is really grating on me this year as it isn't cosy. perhaps that's my investment. I like now that the decorations mean something to each of us.
The rest of the house is a cacophony of whatever cheaper stuff has been amassed. Flashing lights, tiny trees, paper chains. I was feeling guilty about the tree being 'mine' but the kids definitely have influence.
I like your nutcrackers. I don't think I've seen one in real life!
Not Xmas decoration related, DH chose and bought for himself H&M David Beckham pants which look very nice but comfy. I would like some!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I don't mind doing that. Would that work with LEDs, do you think?Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
