    I see your 6.5 days for 5, & raise you 10 days for 1 days annual leave!:j

    .

Presumably that's reflected in salary expectation? Does it happen at Easter too?

Having read through the last 3-4 pages, I have to say it is a lot more fun when you lot are chatting about what underwear to buy for yourselves, rather than what your husbands wear!;)

Balconettes please, short cut knickers, or higher waists and higher legs, (different hip and waist shapes suit different knickers) and six straps on suspender belts please. (Others are prettier though).

In about 1975 my older sibling bought my parents a matching set of cutlery. Just a standard set of Viners.... mum still "didn't get it" - and that cutlery only EVER came out if my sibling was coming round for a meal (once a year max) and on Xmas Day. I've now got that set .....

It's not as if it were "posh" or expensive. It was just a standard set of cardboard boxed cutlery..... but to my mum it was "for best".

If they'd used it daily since acquiring it, it'd have outlasted them.

Is it now your only cutlery?

No, but I'm playing a bit, as it includes bank hols etc. In reality it is still 6 days for the price of 1. Still not bad mind!:)

edit - easter, no. Get the friday/monday off.
We have 12 "fixed" bank holidays & concessionary days across the year. There are then different levels of flexible leave depending on your "status" (though there are increasing limitations on this "flexibility", & it appears some have more flexibility than others). At certain times in the year we have excessive busy periods, where one can build up a fair bit of time in lieu, which can be very helpful for medical appts, or extending a holiday by a day or so.
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

No. I'd picked up a set for £2 from an advert in a shop window in 1979 and I'd bought a £2 set at Ikea in about 1989 ... so, really, I don't need it. It's currently in a plastic bag inside a box, stacked up.... but once I get the house I'll be using it .... probably "for best" :)

I did think of taking it to be used at Xmas this year .... but my younger sister would consider it too gh0ulish and there'd be a row, some huffy behaviour ... and if it were finally used there'd then be a lack of care meaning one piece would probably go missing.....

It's just a set of 6 knives, forks, dessert spoons and teaspoons. No serving spoons or other stuff.

Its a shame you don't enjoy it every day :)

I'd google, but had better wait til I get home!

To be honest, some days I don't use any cutlery .... my indian on Saturday was eaten with one dessert spoon :)

And I don't have a table, so never lay one... just open the drawer and grab what I need when I need it.

You could still grab the nicest spoon. Or lay a lovely tray :)

DH has a favourite fork for nights like that. Its a silver cake fork with bent tines. I cannot STAND out of line tines, they make me deeply unsettled. But DH gets a sort of pleasure form them. We're trying to rationalise all the time but our favourites are different and it makes it hard. :o

I have some silver plate forks in particular I'm not sure what to do with. A friend of the family sells silver as a job on ebay and she reckons they are worth something to the right buyer......but trying to find the right buyer could be more hassle than its worth.

Right, I have to go and view a house that I won't want..... it's over my budget, it's overpriced and it's got the wrong sort/size of outside space that faces 100% in the wrong direction. House literally has NO sunshine in it at any time of day ..... wish I'd never phoned them to be honest...... then I'll pop into the 99p shop to see if they've got a phone cover, I've got the measurements in my pocket.

So I'll be back in a bit.

Need to look up the phone to find out if it's got a charger or not ..... bit confused about it really. And/of if my current Nokia charger would fit ....

    Phone: http://www.tesco.com/direct/tesco-mobile-motorola-moto-g-8gb-black/454-8906.prd

These phones almost all charge through the USB cable. So, just connect it up to your laptop to charge. Or you can get a little wall charger the USB cable plugs into.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Please be aware that this handset is supplied with a USB cable but no AC adapter.

We have a table like that. I suspect it is used 1 day a year - boxing day, when brother & his family visit.

It's always confused me - families save certain things for "best", yet this merely seems to mean they never get used. Pointless?

It's not so much that my parents save the dining room for best so as not to use it, I suspect that, instead, it's too much hassle. There's a perfectly good table in the kitchen, which can seat 10 more or less, and the dining room's the other end of the ground floor, with scullery and sitting room in between. I think it's a "can't be ar4ed" more than anything! If they are expecting more than 10 people, or guests who apparently couldn't be expected to eat in the kitchen, then they use their dining room, after my Dad's been bullied into moving all his work stuff out of the way.

I prefer higher waists and higher up the legs, and not the short-types. They don't fit me properly. Can't stand thongs, either, they seem like dental floss for your backside, to my mind.
