LED is the light generating method, not the material of the casing.0 -

I find that on lots of sites these days, logout is always well hidden - almost feels deliberate....I think....0

Have you bought women's knickers? Buying men's pants is MUCH simpler to buying women's underwear. We tend to be fussier about.....everything from style to shape. DH is also buying me underwear for my stocking. I chose it.....its just better that way.0 -

It's only actually used for eating on about 4 times a year, really - a lot of the rest of the time it's buried under my Dad's papers.
We have a table like that. I suspect it is used 1 day a year - boxing day, when brother & his family visit.
It's always confused me - families save certain things for "best", yet this merely seems to mean they never get used. Pointless? It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I think spirit has inspired me. I was going to decorate a future Christmas tree for the cheese room with food and sweet type decorations, but now I think I'm going to go for wooden ones, I love them.0

Back when I was a kid, the stuff was used/re-used for years - so it becomes embedded in your memory banks as nostalgic memories. Nowadays, with so much bling and purchasing overload, I wonder if many people are disposing of previous years' decorations on a regular basis.... thus kids won't have memories of the grotty/old bits and bobs that were omnipresent over the years.
Xmas seems more about the parent/s following some celeb's whims or the latest purchase .... and not about creating a Xmas that will be the family tradition.

They just introduced Xmas closedown at our place. You get 6.5 days off for taking 5 days paid holiday so not too bad a deal.
You don't have to take it if you can demonstrate a 'business need' for you to be there (e.g. you're an accountant as our financial year end is Dec 31).
Personally I think it's a pretty good idea. I can take the best part of a fortnight out of the office without worrying that there's going to be a ton of work piling up.
I see your 6.5 days for 5, & raise you 10 days for 1 days annual leave!:jlostinrates wrote: »Ok, I'm still on tree decorations.....stars or angels on top?
I think angels are 'nicer' but stars are more aesthetic. Here we have a star....tis the perfect compromise between his ancestors and mine

Having read through the last 3-4 pages, I have to say it is a lot more fun when you lot are chatting about what underwear to buy for yourselves, rather than what your husbands wear!;)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0
