I think he likes slightly higher rise than that so he can flash his pants a bit :rotfl:.
Go for the EA ones0 -

Neither have I. I would have been quite happy to, but LNE preferred to buy his own. I've bought DS's, of course, but I don't think "age 12-13" ones count as "men's" do they? He's not into labels or anything, and quite happy to have supermarket own brand ones.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

OH claims that only M & S do proper men's pants. But he buys his own, I've never bought men's pants. I have bought boys' pants, for Isaac, though. Does that count?PasturesNew wrote: »I bet your Xmas looks like they do on telly adverts
10 days is phenomenal. Since I've been working I've usually only had Xmas Day/Boxing Day off, same with sibling, so we've generally just had Xmas Day, then Boxing Day, at the parents'. I've never bothered getting much in at all as it's just been 2 days off work, with Xmas Day and Boxing Day at mum's, no chance to do anything 'for Xmas' at mine
We'd turn up each of the two days, not 'stay there'
I'm self-employed. So I mark just before Christmas, and between Christmas and New Year, out of my diary.
That's now I'm a tenant - as a pupil barrister and squatter, I had to do Saturday courts. Saturday courts are essentially any non-working days, where people are brought before criminal courts to be remanded in custody or bailed. So as a junior barrister, I did either Christmas Eve or Boxing Day, and certainly between Christmas and New Year. Now, I don't do general criminal work, and there's very little in the tribunals and nothing in the High Court at that time of year.
And Christmas is a fun time to spend with the family - my sisters are either not at work, or only popping in to do a bit, my brother's around, my Dad's not working, there are uncles and so forth hanging about, and it's a great time to spend with family without other things distracting people and getting in the way.
I've no real idea what Christmas adverts look like, I don't really take in that kind of thing, much!
This is my mother's idea of hallway / staircase decoration:
and a partially-laid Christmas dining table:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
Only just got back from Feltham, another extremely long day. Funny how, when you're quite tired and would appreciate an early finish, matters drag out!
Better go and look at my papers for tomorrow, which I've not seen yet <groan>...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

At my nan's, we used to all go there on Boxing Day. About 8 adults and 8 kids round a standard dining table with 6 chairs, in a dining room about 10'x11'. Mostly kids round the table, you got part of a chair, 2-3 adults at the table, rest on chairs/arm of a chair alongside.
Later, at tea-time, another aunt/uncle + 4 kids would turn up (they lived about 6 doors down so were at nan's on Christmas Day).
It's not my dining table - it's my parents'. It was my Granny's, who inherited it from her step-father, whose great-grandfather bought it in the late 18th century in Liverpool.
It's not always that big - it has several extra leaves you can put in the middle, and a fantastic massive iron system to extend the main end bits so you can add the extra leaves. There were originally 6 leaves, so the table could seat 30 people, but my grandparents never had anywhere near enough room to extend it that far, and they had 3 leaves turned into other tables.
With 3 leaves in, it seats 8 people on either side and one at each end, and you can squash a couple more in at either end if people don't mind their elbows being near someone's dinner. Extended that far, though, there's not much room left in the dining room, and at one end, Dad's in the inglenook, and at the other, my Mama's back's to the wall....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -

It's incredibly heavy, with the thick oak, and this metal system for extending it. Still seems like Granny's table to me - she was very proud of it. It's only actually used for eating on about 4 times a year, really - a lot of the rest of the time it's buried under my Dad's papers....much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0
