Should have multiquoted. I am pretty clumsy with my phones, often dropping it on to concrete but it seems to survive ok or be it with a few marks on the corners/edges. However I would recomend a 'screen protector' which is just a transparent film sheet which sits on the screen and means that only the plastic disposable film gets damaged when you put it in a pocket with your car keys. It may well come with one or two in the box.
I do like to keep things "perfect", I get very upset when there's a small mark on things.
I'll look in the 99p shop for one.

Right, I need to get this lot of malarkey in order .....
I am confused as to the precise order of things.
1[ Pick up phone, which will have a card in it. Do not use this.
2] Go home and go onto eaby, buy an unlock code.
3] Apply to current provider for code to keep my number

After that there's a whole raft of things I can't understand/put into order, and I can't even type the list of confusing bits. Here's one....

If I have a card in the phone, that I am probably not going to use, do I need to organise the data connection first, or do the unlock first?

If I am sitting at home holding the phone (never turned on) and the unlock code on my screen ...... how do I get from that point and through unlocking, choosing/getting the right service, getting my number changed over?

Unlocking purely relates to the phone. When I unlocked mine, I did need a SIM card that was from a different network to the one my phone was locked to. On the same principle, if the phone is tesco Mobile, you should put your T mobile one in it and unlock it. It will then work with your current SIM and telephone number.

You'll have a shiny new phone working on your existing contract and can then find a new deal to suit you at leisure. At that point I would look for a minutes/data deal, decide which one I want and then phone T mobile to get the code or see if they can offer you a better deal.

It doesn't really matter which order you do things in, but I think unlock first is better. You'll have a shiny new working phone and can then find a new deal to suit you at leisure.

What Doozer said. You have a sim that works in your current phone. If it will fit in your new phone, then switching phone first and deal later is definitely a simpler prospect than doing it all at once.

Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

PN - I find that moving around is the best way to warm up. That and a hot water bottle. Maybe some thermal socks might help? They often sell them in Lidl/ Aldi, or sports direct type shops.

Agree with much of this. I visit friends occasionally who moan about being cold, but all they do is sit there!

Ah - handy. I can at least probably see the phone numbers easier/better on that screen to be able to write them down ready for the new phone.

So it wouldn't be entirely useless for several days.

Oh hang on, no, my card won't fit the new phone ....

The t mobile shop will probably be able to sort you a new mini sim quickly.

Since LIR responded to this, I will too.

"moving around" ... where to? 4' forward, or 4' to the left? There's nothing to do when I stand up except ... sit down again.

They might be talking about that 'outside' place. ;)

Congrats on getting the phone, PN. Hope you get it up and running soon.
For the 8-10 I've got.... do them manually.

I'm honoured because 4 of them probably are:

    - wheezy home
    - wheezy work
    - wheezy mobile
    - wheezy mum

    ;)

I'm still very much stuck in the 20th century on the mobile front. Last year, I got this:

    uk_GT-E2550SKAXEU_001_Front?$L2-Gallery$

Was around £30 on Amzon, unlocked, sim free.

Well, if it's too cold outside, you could run on the spot or jump up and down. :j

What kind of cooker hob do you have? Gas or electric? I find with a gas hob, putting one gas ring on warms the kitchen up remarkably quickly - and of course it's very efficient because all the heat from that gas is going into the room, none of it up a chimney or out of a boiler vent or anywhere. I've never tried it with an electric hob, though, and suspect it wouldn't work as well.

That's the kind of phone my inlaws gave my kids - a black one for him and a pink one for her.
