Big hugs to all NP's who lost mum and/or dad. It's been 4 years since me dad passed away and it's not getting easier yet. I don't know how to explain but when he died it somehow didn't sink in and it was all hectic and stuff to arrange...sure I was sad ... but only now I find the time to stand still and reflect. Hope that made sense.

11th is on, we're not, 12 are performing, and everyone's been perfect.

    I've never been this nervous!

Is this the kiddie Eurovision? Is it finished now? Who won?
I've been in nearly 1.5 hours, turned heating on as soon as I came in (treating myself!) .... had a full hot curry, hot naan .... sitting under a furry blanket, how come I am still freezing, fingers are freezing, legs are freezing??

    It's your age :D

Hush! I'm still freezing; boiler's working - I've even got the oven on too, opening the door every 10 minutes. Still no warmer.... even though I stand by the open oven door each time I open it ... and let the hot air waft up my top. :)

Makes a mockery of those nutters who go round the web saying they can heat a room with two tealights and bread bin and two plant pots. Average cost 4p a day.

I find I can't reflect because the minute I think of him, all thoughts turn to dealing with mum who has turned impossibly needy now she is on her own.

Just twiddled with the boiler, turned the radiator button up a bit higher ... and fiddled with the radiator control knob, I think it's nearly full on (rather than off) ... I'm not good at working radiator thermostats as you can't tell if you're turning it up or down unless it's daylight and you're close up to it.
  • Hope you are OK, Lydia, not the easiest of days <hugs>

Problem with doing what on is doing is you get warm for a minute (which makes the cold seem colder) without getting properly warm to the bone.

In an icey cold house candle heat lifts of the icey chill but you don't get the same warm waft pastures is talking about.

Pn I thought the place you were in now was warm? This made me very happy for you last year.

PN - I find that moving around is the best way to warm up. That and a hot water bottle. Maybe some thermal socks might help? They often sell them in Lidl/ Aldi, or sports direct type shops.

4th, and we were 1st/2nd right the way up!

And that was why I didn't want to be last, as voting last was how we came 4th from 2nd!

    Well, well done Malta :)

ETA: This isn't just Malta's first JESC win, it's the first ever win for country!
