I use mine a fair amount every month and found 200mb was too little but 500mb is plenty. Some networks charge (a fortune) if you go over allowance, others just slow you down or stop you altogether.
Cheers, it's always been the case that there's no ongoing/live monitor of bandwidth. I've always wondered how much a, say, 3 minute youtube vid would chew up, but there's no easy way to have ever told.

O2 is apparently good round here, I overheard that when I was working and they were trying to sort out contracts for the owner. O2 is also the dongle I used when I got a tiny signal here/indoors. The O2 shop also said their signal is best for this area.... however, I am not always in this area. Who knows what it's like, or any of them are like, 10 miles up the road, or in another county.

No idea what all this unlocking business means, to be honest. I am starting to wonder if 1GB of data might be better as I might end up using it out of excitement more than expected. On my home PC, without taking photos, I use over 10GB a month .... without using youtube or telly online. Websites force too much media cr4p on you these days.

You will get excited. 1GB was right for me, habitual user and tethering when the kids were in extra curricular activities, until we lived in the holiday cottage and had no other internet, so I went to unlimited.

We're now using our phones as the only means of internet, tethering the laptop and kindles to mine mainly and it's absolutely fine! We haven't used the landline in years so I begrudged all the line rental. I love not having that bill.

I'd ask you how much/how you do that, except I'm tied into an 18 month BT contract (7 months to run). But, so I know.... how much is that?

We all have the phones contracted in, but when I didn't have unlimited internet, they charged me £2 a month to up it to unlimited. DS already had unlimited internet but they added £1.50 a month to allow tethering.

Whatever it is, my entire mobile bill with an iphone included is less per month than BT phoneline and broadband were by themselves.

If I had the phone, with the app, I could drive out to places, see if I liked the look of them, then look at the RM app at houses. That wouldn't have been practical without a phone as I could spot places that looked OK, but without being able to instantly see how much places cost and exactly where they are by looking at a map, all I could do would be to write it down, then look it all up online once I got home.... so not a practical solution.

But, now, I could simply spend a whole day doing a random round robin of driving around an area from place to place ..... see it, check it out, check prices, see on the map ..... mark areas/roads as "acceptable" or "grim" ... then move on.

    AND take photos as reminders.

    Nice.

I had a feeling that would appeal to you!

Two years today since my mum died. Long phone call with my dad. Only talked about her a bit, though. Mostly he wanted to talk about my kids and how they're doing, especially DS.
Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. (Link permitted by forum team)
Tyre performance in the wet deteriorates rapidly below about 3mm tread - change yours when they get dangerous, not just when they are nearly illegal (1.6mm).
Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.

To me that is wonderful that he is able to concentrate on the future rather than the past. How are things for you - any update on 'dates'?
    I think....

Oh Lydia. I have genuinely been thinking of you today. I have no idea why, but I was in the shower earlier and it just popped into my head that it must have been about two years. I think because there was a lot of upheaval in our lives at the time, but that is still strange as I wasn't thinking of that particularly, either.

I hope the family is okay, dad especially.

3 hours (ideally 2h30) to get makeup, costumes, final PR, boat and final (private) rehearsal done, and many things more for 5, with 6 of us on the delegation.

This is expecting the impossible, but somehow we manage it!

    See you after the contest!

    Good luck!

When I watched a 60 minute programme on iPlayer, I seem to recall it took about 600MB (not high-definition). If the rate is about the same for YT, that would be 30MB?

Thinking of you and your family, Lydia.
